My mic doesn't wrk for my RB1 and 2

Everytime I try to sing with my mic, the arrow is missing. There's no point in singing because my score bar goes up and down without me doing anything. My voice has no effect. Plus when you're supposed to use the mic as a tambourine, it won't work (so I have to press the A button)

When I use overdrive, all the music stops playing. The note go on. but in the background I hear static noises.

The mic was originally from my RB1 set, so I tried using the mike on both RB1 and RB2. Same results from 2.

Is it because of the wii or doI need a new mc?

That is most certainly a mic problem, not a system problem. The mic is giving off a horrible pitch, which the game is receiving as constant "singing static". I'm sure if you put on a "talkie" song you'd 100% it. Any USB Logitech mic will work as a replacement.
