View Full Version : RB sees Bass as Mic? Huh? What?

I've had Rock Band on XBox 360 for a while now and everything has been working fine. A couple weeks ago I purchased Rock Band 2, and that worked fine. Earlier today I popped Rock Band 1 in the 360, and the bass was being read as the mic. I switched to RB2 to see if it was the same, but the bass was connected as the bass. I switched back to RB1 and the bass was connected as the mic again.

Any idea how I could fix this? I don't have Xbox Live at the moment so I have not patched either games. Could that be my problem? Thanks in advance...

Quite possibly, yes. You can get a free Xbox Live silver account and it will allow you to download game patches.

easy fix, disconnect the bass from the xbox (with it off of course) flip it over, you will see a switch that says RB1 and RB2. make sure its in RB1 for Rock Band 1 (and in RB2 for Rock Band 2) plug it back in, and turn on the xbox. should come up just fine. threw me for a loop first time i used it too.

The switch probably got moved when you put the bass down, stood it against something, etc.
