i just got done reading that ea said that if u try to fix ur instrument urself then u can say goodbyw to the warranty:(

i would think so. Messing with the inside tech would void a warranty, but glue is no different that tape, or even putting a sticker on it. Its the exterior, so Id say youre fine.

We wouldn't hold that against you for your warranty as it is obvious that your attempt to glue the pedal is not what caused the damage. However, actual modifications to the pedal may void the warranty.

Do you [people] have a solution to the pedal snapping? I ordered a new one but I don't want to wait weeks for it to come in and then get another one that snaps...

im glad EA is accepting a break of the pedal under warranty claims. im extra careful when using it, and know that it's possible that warranty could be denied on something like this and blame it on user abuse or carelessness.

I am also waiting on a new pedal to arrive.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but has there been any improvements to the drums bass pedal you are sending out now compared to the originals sent out?

I am glad of the hassel free shipment of the new pedal "I haven't received it yet" But I am just concerned the same thing will continue to happen.

I think its all about foot placement. keep the ball of your foot right on that orange line and you should be fine.

Wrong. That is how I play and instead of mine snapping in the middle, it snapped at the beginning of it...

Soon to be updated with pics.

is there really a proper design for this though? i mean it's plastic. it's going to snap at some point if you apply too much pressure to it. the only safe bet would be to macgyver your real pedal to hook up to the drumset, or buy one of those metal plate covers that someone on the forums is selling. but i need to see better pictures of it. it's tacky but it looks like it would work as long as it extends along the whole pedal, as you can see from R0ck3r's pics the pedal can still crack closer to the hinge.

I'm waiting on a drum pedal replacement also, only mine didn't break in half, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my cord is split in half somehow, IN 2 DIFFERENT PLACES, and I have no clue how the could have happened, in fact my brother who also got Rock Band noticed that on his cord part of the wire was exposed as well but not split in half like mine, he just used some electrical tape to cover up the wire but it's very odd.

You guys stomping on it extremely hard? Holy crap that would be hard to break - I mean I hit my pedal hard- really only play it barefoot and still can't see it snapping like that yet - Must be some really hard stomping going on.

Just curious if that is really rquired to play a song?

I have been playing the drums almost all day since the day the game came out. If that last question is directed at if you need the bass pedal to play drums, yes you do. The game fails you if you don't.

On what level ? I';ve made it up to hard without seriously slamming the pedal..

Hard. Also I don't seriously slam on the pedal. I just use what is required for it to register. If I do it softer, it doesn't register at all.

Yea it is tricky, I'm waiting for my drummer friends to give me some pro advice- I suck at the drum rolls like on Ballroom Blitz.... hopefully the pedal holds up a bit better.

my pedal broke almost exactly like yours.

As a temporary fix until the new one arrives, I just took some duct tape and taped from the pedal over the hinge to the base. Basically making a new duct tape hinge. It's a little sloppy and the pedal wobbles a little side to side, BUT it works, and if I break the duct tape... I can just tape it up again.

I might have to try that...

I beat all of hard and it was ok.
Then 26 songs through expert (when you are hitting the bass pedal constantly), I didn't do it any harder and it snapped in half. I always play with it pressed down & lift and tap when the orange bar passes, so who knows.

My solution was to use some wood and fiberglass cloth and glue to whole thing with epoxy. Its not pretty but it is very sturdy.

Duct tape works great. :D I actually do better with it.... I played Gimme Shelter (probably my fav. song in the game) on Hard (sorta new to me) going through the career. Anyway, I ended up getting a 746 note streak

mine broke in half at a friends house and my quick fix with limited supplies was using two butter knives running long ways as like splints and then plenty of ductape holding them to the pedal. it looks bad but feels good and strong now.

Would be interesting to know how much money they are losing from all these RMAs.. Hope it has no effect on the chances of a Rock Band 2.

Mine is on the brink of breaking so I just ordered a replacement. There's a hairline crack slowly making it's way up the left side of my pedal. I think I might pull out the handy duct tape even though it will probably be ugly, it might at least slow the process until my replacement arrives.

What I've noticed about these breaks at the beginning of the pedal is that usually people are playing with their heel on the kick pedal so that when you push you are pushing at the bottom of the pedal as well. When you get your new pedal try playing with your heel resting on the base of the pedal (the part that sits on the floor) instead of the actual pedal itself. That way you are only pushing with the ball of your foot and not with your heel.

I hope that helps; it's just something I noticed.
