So after a bit of overuse :p my yellow pad is starting to wear down. It still works perfectly, but I have a feeling it won't for long.

This bubble started to form, didn't seem like too big a problem. I went through the Endless Setlist 2 on Expert with it, so...

This sound clip is a comparison between the yellow and blue pads. The first noise (the mechanic-sounding one) is the yellow, and the thump is the completely normal blue pad.

If I had the money I'd probably get the RB2 kit with GoodWoods and the Destroyer (which is my plan eventually), but for now, is there any way to fix this? It's not under warranty any more, so I was wondering if there are any repair options or DIY methods until I can get a new kit.

You could buy a new pad off of eBay. Search "rock band replacement pad."

Looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do, because when I took off the drum head, it turns out the orange plastic keeping the connector in place was broken off. :/
