Okay, so I've blown through expert drums until I reach "Don't Fear the Reaper." I'm not sure what happens, but once I reach the 'outro' sections, everything just falls apart for me. The odd thing is that I'm very certain that I'm playing everything correctly and in time. Either I'm a millisecond off tempo, my calibration needs updating, or there is some glitch in the game. Anybody feeling my frustrations here or run into a similar issue? Once I nail this I'm on to the final tier, but I don't foresee that happening too soon....

dang.. how do you guys do expert?? i mean, ive been playing the drumset fo four years and , i can do expert, but not on all songs. i guess i just get confused when the notes are all over the place. and yes, i have had the same issue. dont remember what song though. just try slowing the song all the way and maybe there is a slight gap in notes you arent seeing. :)

If you're talking about the very end of the song, after the crazy interlude, the beat does actually change. First it throws in an extra snare hit, then when the cymbal comes in every beat, it's just 2 off-time snare hits, but the ride cymbal pattern stays the same. I think the bass pattern might change a bit too...

hit everything in the same intervals, but get a bit ahead of the beat. i know exactly what youre talking about and ive noticed i rack up a combo when i consciously play ahead of the beat.. usually looking at the screen where the notes hit the bottom..

it could be calibration but i (and others) have noticed that most of the time playing ahead of the audio a BIT is a safe bet for keeping your combo.. just test it out a bit as you replay certain songs.

I have noticed a similar thing in run to the hills on expert. The beginning is straightforward 16th hats and kick for the most part, and I am playing to time with what I hear as opposed to what I see. With my calibration set to lcd (I play on an lcd) there are a few notes that seem to get flubbed. I set it to crt with zero lag, and the intro plays much better, but the faster part afterwards doesn't seem quite right. Trying to pass the fast part, I am unsure if I am messing up, or there is some timing issue that becomes more relevant when things get really fast...

I crapped out on Dead On Arrival. I've tried it numerous times, but its just too quick for me, and I can only hear the song so much before I get tired of trying.

I don't know about Run to the Hills or DOA, but my real band plays Don't Fear (The Reaper) and my drummer *****ed about the timing of the ending for three weeks before he got comfortable with it in practice. So it's not just you guys or the game for Reaper, it really is a slightly off-beat weird little thing going on there (I'm a guitarist, I don't know what to call the thing is he's doing)

There's nothing off-beat about that part. Sure it's different than the rest of the song, but there's nothing that is technically "off" the beat.

Depending on how you count this (I count it as a very quick 4/4), the kick is playing on 1, 2, the ride is playing every quarter note, and the snare is playing on 1&, 3, 4&.

Ok the ride plays on 1 2 4, and there's a crash on 3 instead, but whatever, still the same rhythm with the right arm, on every quarter note.

So it breaks down like this:

1 - kick, ride
1& - snare
2 - kick, ride
2& - nothing
3 - snare, crash
3& - nothing
4 - ride
4& - snare

Dunno if that helps you play it at all, but those are the rhythms, at least it should be on Expert. I don't have the game in front of me, but listening to the mp3, that's what the original drummer plays. (He might be playing the kick on every quarter note for the last few progressions of this, it's hard to tell)
