Only the mic is compatible.

The game is the same on the 360 and PS3.

Online community and peripheral support seems to be a bit better on the 360 at the moment, in my opinion.

It's a pretty tough call thus far.

The 360 is arguably the platform of choice for Rock Band what with controller compatibility and sheer number of players, but the PS3 is region free which works for those of us overseas and it's a more reliable system than the 360.

If both were locally available here in Australia, however, I don't think there's any way I'd have bought the PS3 version. If multiplayer's your thing, you gotta go where the gamers are, and 360 gamers will outnumber PS3 gamers by at least 4 to 1.

Well, the 360 drumsticks work on the PS3 drums, but not vice versa.

You need to get the latest patch.

I honestly thing the online is closer to equal than people think. I never have trouble finding at least one person to pair up with for online quickplay, and rarely having trouble finding a whole band (it seems to depend if people feel up to singing that night).

However, the PS3 does lack in the head-to-head department. You can open up a competitive match and wait forever for someone to show up--everyone on the PS3 seems to be more interested in the co-op mode.

And the 360 does have achievements, which the PS3 doesn't presently have (but may add when Home finally comes out sometime next decade).

Finally, the PS3 has a wireless guitar, which is a big deal for me, because in the space I'm in, a wired drum kit, a wired mic and two wired guitars would be impossible to play: the screen's too big for four people to be that close and still tell what they're doing.

the LEFT HANDED drumsticks work on both PS3 and Xbox 360. Bundles that come with sticks for right-handed people are out of luck!

They aren't going to patch it because if IP rights

Bring them to a music store... ask for the instrument service/repair guy and have him look at them and tell you which they are.

I had to RMA my drumsticks and they sent me back two left-hand ones. WTF?
