I just re-watched School of Rock. Jack Black is so hilarious in this movie. I highly suggest it to those who haven't seen it.

And for those who like foreign films, Linda Linda Linda is a Japanese movie about this group of teenage girls in a rock band who want to play a show for their high school's festival. The girls play covers of songs by the famous Japanese punk group The Blue Hearts (an actual band, for those who don't know), including the song Linda Linda, which the movie is named for.

Anyone else know any good rock related/themed movies?

It's not rock, but Blues Brothers is classic. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd in the prime of their comedic careers, a great supporting cast, an awesome soundtrack, and some of the best car chase scenes in any movie.

Oh I forgot Rocky Horror Picture show.

That's not rock related. That's a weird musical indie movie. And just because "rock" is part of the name doesn't make it a rock related move. :p I could give musical recommendations if people want them though. The Music Man is about a fraud who tries to sell this town marching band instruments and then hightail it with the money before they realize he's a fraud. But then he meets this librarian lady named Marian... </OTness>

I've actually never seen This is Spinal Tap. Thanks for reminding me of that guys. :) I should see Pick of Destiny too. I find Jack Black in general pretty hilarious so anything that involves him is awesome.

You're going to recommend the absolute mess that is the "Tommy" movie? Really?

Wow!

I'm one of the biggest Who fans in the world and even I can't stand that movie (Who the hell thought to cast Jack Nicholson in a singing role?!). The only good part is Elton John's performance of "Pinball Wizard" (Which, ironically, is playing on my Ipod right now). The rest of the cast buchers the songs so badly that it's not funny (even Roger seems like he's just parodying his former performances). The director, well I'm not quite sure what he was thinking.

Six String Samurai (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118736/)

Here's the plot:

"In a post-apocalyptic world where the Russians have taken over a nuked USA and Elvis is king of Lost Vegas, "Six-String Samurai" chronicles the tale of Buddy, a hero who's a '50s rocker and wandering warrior rolled into one, too-cool package. Armed with his six-string in one hand and his sword in the other, Buddy is on his way to Vegas to succeed Elvis as King. Along the way, he saves an orphan who decides to play tag-along to his rescuer. What follows is the road trip from hell."

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" IS a rock related movie

There are references to rock n' roll all throughout that movie. Plus, the music is fairly bare bones rock as well.
