So my strummer waited a week to fail. Set up the RMA Wednesday morning and was tickled to see my tracking number set for delivery today. UPS shows up and proudly presents me with an obviously empty box. I debate whether to accept delivery and am told "It's already marked as delivered".
Great.
I take the empty box upstairs and shock my old lady by throwing down the box. Her smile vanishes.
I open the box which contains a padder for shipping a guitar, instructions how to pack a guitar, NO GUITAR, not even return labels.
I know you're asking "Did you put down the credit card?" Yep. I see the $125 transaction pending on my account.
I'm entering the half hour mark on hold...
EA/Harmonix: WTF?!?!?

Wouldn't want the truth about this SNAFU sitting on the real board, eh?
I know as an early adopter I should be able to exercise more patience but this is ridiculous.

No, it's just that this topic is about Tech Support, not the Rock Band game.
I hope they fix this up for you quickly. What a bum deal. :(

Nothing gets my back up more than when I get a thread moved but they lack even the courtesy to post that they did it. It couldn't be any more impersonal.
Incidentally, as an early adopter, I'd think if anything it'd be natural for you to have less patience. What with having bought it as soon as it's come out, and you know prices for this thing are only going to go down.
Frankly, if they'd done a better job on the hardware, you wouldn't feel so much like your impatience was being pushed to the limit.
Good luck on that call, if they ever pick up.

You send your broken hardware back in that box. Once they get it they send you the new one. Also the $125 is because you selected Express Replacement and if they do not get your equipment back in the 28-day limit, then they charge you for the handling. If you get it back to them within that limit, it is completely free.
If you prefer not to provide a credit card, we will send you an empty box with a prepaid shipping label to return the original equipment. Once we receive the original equipment back from you, we will send your new equipment free of charge.
They charge you if they do not get your faulty equipment back and if you choose normal, since you did not provide a credit card, they send you an empty box first. Here is the thing from the Express Replacement.
We have two methods of replacement for you to choose from.
Express Replacement
We can send you replacement equipment immediately via 2-Day Air Delivery, free of charge. The box will include a prepaid shipping label so you can return the original equipment in the same box.
To guarantee that the original equipment is returned, we will need to take your credit card number. YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED provided you return the original equipment within 28 days. If we do not receive the original equipment back from you within 28 days, your card will be charged a replacement and handling fee of $125.00.
IMPORTANT! A pre-authorization of $125.00 will appear on your card from Electronic Arts, verifying that funds are available by placing a "hold" on those funds for up to 30 days. If you use a credit card, this hold will affect your available credit. However, a pre-authorization to a debit card will hold ACTUAL FUNDS. If sufficient funds are not available on your debit card, this hold may result in overdraft fees.
Most of our requests are processed within 1-2 business days. All shipments are 2-day Air Delivery.

Dear Senior Member,
Apparently, in spite of your awesome bold and size skills, you did not read my OG post.
"I know you're asking "Did you put down the credit card?" Yep. I see the $125 transaction pending on my account. "
Now, to bold your post:
"Express Replacement

All told, I spent 1.25 hours on the phone. My beef's resolved.
P.S. Whoopee! You're a senior member on a video game message board.
P.P.S. A video game that doesn't work so well.

My umbrage stems from your hasty reply. I clearly state that my CC was secured.
I've hashed it out with the escalation team and am potentially happy with its resolution.
If not, this thread may have legs.
