I can not connect to my friends in MP Rock Band

I have sent and received and accepted invites every which way known to man and for the life of me none of us can figure out how to hook up?

My XBL account is active as I can join random multiplayer matches and random bands. I just can not join a match or band set up by my friends. When I hit "Accept Invite" or "Join Session" nothing happens. Even when I exit the XBL dashboard nothing has changed with the game state. Any help at all is very much appreciated.

And no I am not ******ed; I have been in the games biz for over 15 years and am pretty fluid when dealing with f'ed up UI's such as this...

Please help.

I have the same problem. I select "Invite a Friend" from within "Join a Band", but when they accept the invite, it just takes them into the game. There's never a connection made between the two of within the game . I'm new to XBL, so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure of the answer, but hopefully the server side issues they addressed over the weekend will help resolve this. I am going to try again to connect tonight...on GH 3 it could not be any easier so I am thinking this is a software problem not a funky UI issue
