Will the PS3 drum be compatible with the PS2 game?

I hope anyone from Harmonix answers this, Will we be able to use the PS3 drum with the PS2 game on the PS2 console? If I buy the PS3 bundle and one of my friend buys the PS2 game, will I be able to bring the drum to his place so we can rock out on his PS2?

Seeing that the PS2 version isn't being released until mid Decemberish, I'm not sure who you are expecting to reply.

Argh you're probably right. I guess I need to ask the question again when the game is out for the PS2.
