Anyone got any tips on how to pass Flirtin' with Disaster(especially the solo) or GGaHT on Guitar on Hard? I haven't had problems with any other song(except for Metallica, but I managed to get through that one at least on my own), so not quite sure why these two are pissing me off so much. Any advice is welcome, thanks in advance :)

My problem is with flirting with disaster myself, but I passed GGHT 1st pass... I dunno.
Most people are saying to get used to the solo buttons farther down the neck, so try that in practice mode.

Yeah GGAHT seems easier to me for sure. I actually only tried it once, it's late and I'm getting tired, plus I'm sore lol. I can hopefully pass that tomorrow but Flirtin with Disaster, that's definitely gonna need some work for me to pass it.

This is a standard response, but it contains truth:

1) Save your overdrive until you need it. Even if that means doing OD phrases when you're already full.
2) Practice the sections you're having issues with. It's not always the place you fail. If you're already low when you get into the solo, you're pretty screwed. Any section you're not hitting 90% of the notes, take into practice. Start slow and work your way up to full speed.
3) Don't just grind on the song. Try it once or twice and then go back and five star some of the earlier songs, working your way from the top. You'll improve your overall skill.

Good luck.

That's funny, I'm in the exact same position. Metallica Enter Sandman gave me some probs, but I ended up passing it barely.

Then I cleard the rest except Flirtin with Dissaster and Green Grass and High Tides. Those seem beyond my ability.
I've tried each a few times, went into practice, and got tired of trying and gave it a break.
Maybe I'll pass them one day.

I went ahead a cleared the first 2 Setlists of Expert, then tried again but, no.

I finished everything but flirting with disaster on hard, then went up to expert and finished everything up to the last tier without failing a song. Went back and tried flirting with disaster on hard and it still took me about 20 attempts to beat it on hard even after almost beating most of the game on exoert. Its easily the hardest song IMO. As for how to beat it I would just save all my overdrive until a few seconds into the guitar solo and hope you can hit enough notes after overdrive ends to keep you from failing out until the solo is over. Once you pass the solo the rest of the song is fairly easy

1. Yeah trust me, I've been doing that.
2. I keep practicing, but still no go. It's just a difficult song for me. I'm not going to give up though as I'm sure one day I'll get it.
3. Good advice, I might just have to try that out actually.

this might seem silly to say, but im not familiar with your playing style so here is my advice:

1)struming:when i started playing hard i still strummed down for every note. arm got tired on GH2 playing expert so i started strumming up and down to conserve energy. If stamina is an issue at all for u, this helps. does take getting used to tho :/

2)Hammer ons and pull offs: Those little notes are for hammer ons and pull offs (im pretty sure) Take advantage and, once again, conserve energy. No point in strumming when u dont have to. I don't know if itz ur fret work or strumming that is slowing you down tho...

3)find ur weakness and BEAT IT INTO SUBMISSION:D. honestly tho, thats the only way o get better. Figure out ur weakness, and by that i mean scaling notes, scattered notes, chords, watever. Then find a song that has mostly that type of note format, and playing it till u can destroy it.
practice make perfect. Hope this helps @_@

I'm still playing with a semi-crappy guitar, so I'm stuck mostly upstrumming with a few downstrums here and there. It isn't a huge deal though, as it hasn't caused me problems on any other songs really. Hope I don't have to wait for my new guitar to actually beat the game on hard, especially when I'm not even sure if that would make a difference. Yup, I'm aware of Hammer-ons and pull-offs. I did manage to get further in the songs today, but still can't complete them :(
