Rock Band Microphone

First, I apoligize if this has been answered before - I couldnt find it.

I have Guitar Hero Aerosmith & Guitar Hero III (both for Wii). I recent bought one of the add ons for Rock Band (it says you dont need Rock Band to play) and whenever I try and do anything, it tells me the microphone isnt hooked up. I just want to play the guitar part, thats it. What do I do?

I don't think that Guitar Hero guitars work on the track packs. Essentially, the game is just reading the Wiimote in the guitar. This is how vocals are controlled, so the game assumes that you're a vocalist, hence the messages about not having a mic plugged in.
