Yeah I complained pretty heavy also yesterday and they're tossing me some free goodies too, he didn't say exactly what but he said you'll enjoy the "games" I'll toss in for free for your troubles. I ain't happy it's taken this long to get a replacement guitar, but it's kind of nice when you call you actually do get to speak to someone and they do look into the issues you're having...I hate dealing with tech support for anything and yeah I'm peeved off at the different stories I've been given but my last call kept getting moved up the chain and it went really well...pretty impressive and does show EA actually cares.

I'm importing RB to australia though Gamestop. I complained about a variety of thing that theyve screwed me over with and now im recieving free shipping.

So originally it was going to cost me $247 australian dollars, now its only $194, saving of $53.

Jeez, you guys are lucky. Not because of the free stuff, but at least you got through or got a response from a real person. I've yet to hear a thing about any of the issues I'm having with the game.

I was told they would have to call me back on Monday because the 3rd party couldn't reach the U.S. Line. That is b.s. He said they would call me.

I ordered my guitar last Wednesday and it finally shipped 8 days later on Thursday. In the interim I emailed support twice about the situation and got "Thanks for your patience during the holdidays" type replies. When I first read this I said "Damn, I shoulda called them". However I just received the following email:

I came in to post about this e-mail...I just got it as well. Whichever game, taken back to Wal*Mart, is a nice $60 off the retail of Rock Band. Bravo to EA. Just hope my guitar comes soon....

I got the email too. Completely unexpected, but a nice offering on EA's part. Let's just hope its not Madden 2004 or something. Since I have a PS3, I tend to dislike EA right now, but if its something new enough, I can hopefully exchange it in store or something, for a game I want (like CoD4, or UT3 or something).

I've yet to receive the follow-up, hopefully it's a choice of recent titles. I would LOVE to get Orange Box for free.

I got this same email. Basically, I filled out those online forms to replace my guitar and drums, but yesterday I ended up getting two drum kits in the mail and no guitar whatsoever. After a pretty quick phone call, I got the problem resolved and then apropos of nothing, I found this email in my inbox. I had not been mad, did not ask to speak to a supervisor, and was not upset at all - I work for tech support, and when you're in that line of work you learn very quickly that sometimes **** just happens and getting mad gets you nowhere fast - but EA chose to send me a game out of good will. I think that's really, really awesome. I know the company I work for never would've done that. It's refreshing.

I never thought I'd say it, but I think I kind of like EA now.

I was wondering, did you ask for The Simpson game or did EA just give you that game. I'm wondering if I can wait until next year so I can redeem my free game. I just remembered that Burnout Paradise is coming out next year and I want that game.

Wait, what? Gamestop is sending it to you to Australia? They wouldn't even send it to me in Canada. But, luckily I got it through my game supplier at the store I work at.

After reading this thread yesterday i called today to try and get something out of it, but the guy would not offer anything so i gave up and hung up. Then i check my email and i get the email we're all getting. Pretty sweet. I just hope i can get The Orange Box and not get stuck with Madden or some crappy sports game.

EA is most definitely doing this at the behest of the Rock Band crew and not out of the goodness of their own hearts.

This will certainly create some good will but hopefully it's not tempered by thousands of copies of The Simpsons getting shipped out ;)

You know, this is an angle I really hadn't thought of before. I own a real Fender Telecaster, and I wonder how Fender feels about having their name plastered across lousy hardware products like this (especially the sacred "Stratocaster" name).

It's obviously no reflection on the quality of their real guitars, but if I were Fender I'd surely have a large concern about their company's image regarding this entire situation.

i just hung up with EA after 8 days of waiting and they said my guitar is on its way. they also said i might have a free game in with the guitar. Along with that the supervisor said that since he didn't know if they were sending a free game or not that i could pick one. i opted for Need for Speed pro street. it should be here in 5-7 days. so Kudos to EA games for making ammends on the broken equipment. if any of you have problems ask for a supervisor. remember that the supervisor isn't the one personally holding your new guitar so don't start yelling and screaming. just be firm and voice your frustrations having to wait the extra week.

I'm sure EA was flooded with orders and complaints and yelling people like crazy. I'm just impressed they are replacing them with no charge. The whole free game thing is impressive. Regardless what it is, you could always turn it in at Gamestop or whatever as a brand new game and get something else with it.

That exactly happened to me, the only difference was I ordered the 22. Call them to redo it from teh beginning. I am still wrokign on getting my free game. My order is now redone, new RMA, new tracking number and everything. Every time I have called, the supervisors are not availible. One is supposed to call me back though later tonight with help.

Then last night almost exactly a week later, I got an email from Rock Band Support saying they would be offering me a free game. They said it's been taking too long so they'll send details on a free game, and my guitar is now shipping...sweet!

Well, Just letting you know.. The Simpsons Game is not something that they are just throwing around. I personally Requested that game. I guess i'm also getting ANOTHER FREE game cuz they already sent me the simpsons, and then they sent me ANOTHER Email regarding a free game after that. Yay! 2 free games = $120 so... RockBand 179.99 - 120 = 59.99!

I called and complained again today and specifically mentioned that some people were offered free EA games in compensation. The person I talked to said he would have a supervisor call me. This is the THIRD time I was promised a call from a supervisor. How are you guys getting in touch with supervisors??

I chuckled a bit from the comment about throwing up in the mouth after the cancelled RMA, well then I checked mine because I'm in the exact same boat (online order on the 24th) and guess what "Cancelled RMA" I am currently washing down my own vomit with a bit of Mt. Dew. What the heck? I'll be calling tomorrow.
On a side note that Simpson's game is garbage. I played it on a Wii, which is graphically what was wrong, but the control and story blow as well and I'm sure aren't much better on the 360. I wouldn't take that as much of a gift for trouble with the game of the year IMO.
