PS2 Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar compatibility

I've spent the last 2 hours reading the posts about Rock Band/Guitar Hero guitar compatibility. I understand that the PS3 Guitar Hero guitar (Les Paul) does not work with PS3 Rock Band. But what I need to know is will my Red Octane Guitar Hero sg wireless guitar http://www.redoctane.com/gh-sgwireless.html that I bought to play PS2 Guitar Hero I and II work as the bass on PS3 Rock Band? I have a Pelican PS2-to-PS3 adapter that I have successfully used to play my PS2 version of GHIII on my PS3 so conectivity is not a problem. Anyone know for sure?

It wont work.

The pelican adapter does not help at all, some buttons work, some dont, but that fact makes it entirely non compatible.

We had to buy another complete Rockband set, and both guitars are now going out.

There are no 3rd party controllers for the Ps3.Hopefully that will change in the next few months.
