While viewing the leaderboards for solo vocalists I noticed that there are checkmarks next to each players name. Some are empty while others colored gold.

What's the meaning of the clear vs gold checkmarks?

Maybe for which difficulty they're playing?

I might have the order on this mixed up, but I believe the way it goes is:

Black: Finished on Easy

Bronze: Finished on Medium

Silver: Finished on Hard

Gold: Finished on Expert

That can't be right because I've finished on hard and my checkmark shows as clear.

Your checkmark color only changes if you complete a song on a higher difficulty AND do it better than you did at the lower difficulty, meaning you got more stars for it. For example, if you complete a set on medium and get 8 of 10 stars, and then do the same set on hard and get 7 of 10, you will still get a bronze check and 8 of 10 stars. Your checkmark is linked to your BEST performance, not your hardest one.

He's talking about the leaderboards, not BWT gigs...it's even in the thread title, how'd you miss that?

But it sorta works the same way. The leaderboard will show your highest score on that song, regardless of difficulty. If you scored 180,000 on Dani California on Hard, and then got 160,000 on Expert, the leaderboard will show your 180,000 score with a silver checkmark because even though you completed the song on Expert, your highest score was on Hard.

There are no "clear" checkmarks. :)

I know the differences now but hopefully this post will help some of the new people.

Hey, thanks. I thought that is what they did but I always wondered if I was right or not. ^_^

login on the leaderboard page and there's an option to pick "my rank" once you're logged in.
