Contrary to popular belief, a group of rhythm game fans cannot find loopholes that major company lawyers have overlooked.

I flagged the video for violating my copyright lol I hope it gets taken down.

Seriously though, suck it up. You don't own the music, warner does. They don't want it being used. Give up, go outside, throw a football.

HMX has rights to include the song. You sublicensed the right to play it in the game. You did not license the right to reproduce it for public performance. This was one of the things I wanted to learn in a copyright course, and I learned the answer pretty fast.

They aren't posting the music. They are posting the game play.

They aren't posting the music. They are posting the game play.

That's not a loophole when the audio is still included.

but the music has been licensed for Rock Band/GH, and these videos are simply recordings of gameplay footage, therefor are licensed and there are no copyright issues with uploading the video.

If people really wanted to get the music for free, there are much easier ways than trying to save the audio from youtube, not to mention it would be lower quality from youtube because of the drum fills, etc.

You do not have public performance or redistribution rights associated with the songs.

It's the audio to the game play!

When you sign up for youtube you are told not to post copyrighted crap, when you upload the video you agree again. Unless this guy made the game and made the music that's playing in the game then he has no right posting a video of it.

There are no loopholes for this, all of you need to smarten up. Welcome to the big boy world.

Sorry, it's still not a valid argument. The audio is still the song. You did not acquire the necessary rights to reproduce the audio anywhere but in the game itself.

edit: Furthermore, posting a video of the gameplay can also be construed to be a copyright violation. HMX appears to have simply abstained on suing its users (for good reason, thanks guys!)

Stupid YouTube needs a way for channel owners to be allowed to create plain text posts.

There's nothing more grating than having to watch someone's video full of text messages.

If they're gonna delete Rock Band videos, then why doesn't HMX offer DLC previews? How am I gonna buy DLC if I don't know what the chart looks like?

Who knows if HMX has the necessary public performance rights required to do such a thing.
