View Full Version : Download songs unable to play in game...

Today I bought the Jimmy Eat World pack (for the 360), but when I try to play any of the three songs the game sits at the loading screen. It doesn't freeze, it just sits there (the drum guy is still beating away at the drums like he's trying to load). I'm able to play all of the other songs I've downloaded, and I'm also able to play all of the songs that are on the game to begin with. So I'm really confused. I tried deleting the pack from my hard drive and redownloading it, but no good. Any idea what's wrong, and any suggestions on fixing it?

Have you downloaded the latest game patch? What was the latest DLC (latest release date, that is) that currently works with your system?

Every time I run RB2 I get disconnected from XBox Live, despite the fact that the connection was fine prior to running the game. So I haven't been able to download the update, although I suspected that might be a potential fix.
It appears the latest DLC that works is the 20-pack.

The latest ~2-3 months of DLC requires the latest game patch to be played. That sucks that you were unable to connect to XBL long enough to get the patch before, but hopefully you'll be able to now since you've been able to download the Jimmy Eat World pack. I don't think that the patches are even as large as song packs.

Is there a way to download the patch without being in the game? Like some "Update Game" option in the dashboard? I know when you run the game it says "There's an update, want to patch?" and all that, but if I can avoid having to run RB2 (because I will just get disconnected) that would be nice.

As far as I'm aware, you need to access the patch in-game.

Every time you run RB2 you are going to be disconnected until you accept the title update.

How can I accept the update if I get disconnected? Unless you mean something else by "title update."

What should happen when you place the game in the system is that the game should start up, but before allowing you to play, you should be disconnected from XBL and prompted to update the game or proceed without the ability to play online. Accepting the update should automatically exit the game to download and install a quick update. The game should then restart.

Ahh, I assumed that my disconnection from XBL was unintentional, but it just meant I couldn't do anything online in the game without first patching. And since I was "disconnected" I didn't bother trying to accept the patch. My fault.
Patch successful, songs now work just fine. Thanks a lot for the help!
