This thing works perfect. What we did is we took a piece of metal and screwed it to the underside of a real bass pedal and attached 1 wire to that and connected the other wire to a spring that spans across two bolts to elevate it and carry the current. When the piece of metal attached to the pedal comes in contact with the spring it activates the pedal.

Now...I've seen everything...nice work you haxor u. Yea, but anyway, frankly, I'm surprised you didn't hold out for the double bass setup instead

For dumb people like me, is it possible you can do a step by step instructional overview on how to get this done so we can enjoy the fruits of your labor? ;)

This is definately more along the lines of what I was talking about doing in some of the other threads on this topic. Great work!

I love it, but a magnetic switch like the one originaly developed would be better suited for the task. How does it react to the actual double pump action that a real kick drum feel has {bounce back effect). I miss it, and feel the need for it.
I've played a real drum kit and the bounce back effect is totally lacking in the default RB setup.

That is why if I did this, I would get a practice kick pad and adjust the beater to hit when the connection is made.

Well, I'm not a real drummer but I can get the bass pedal to react very fast when I kick it quickly (like a drum roll).

1) Find 2 long screws and 4 nuts to hold the spring in place then drill 2 holes through the base of the pedal for the screws to pass through. Assemble like shown in the pics.
2) Connect a straight piece of metal using the screw that holds the chain to the pedal, it has to be long enough to make good contact with the spring. See pics for example.
3) Find or purchase a long mono cable with the same jack that connects to the drum set and solder 1 wire to the metal piece that you screwed to the pedal and then connect the other wire to the spring either by soldering or placing the wire in between the 2 nuts on either side.
Let me know if you need anything explained further.

So, did anyone else try this and if so, how is it working for you?

I find it funny this is the simplest thing. And other threads are talking about triggers and such lol.
