Is it just me or was E3 actually a big let down after all the hype?

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good games on the way, but they didn't tell us anything we didn't already know, or tell us of any new games we hadn't known were on the way. They seemed to just kind jerk it to their own sales figures.

As far as i see it the only exciting news was that Mario Kart will be online multiplayer and the fact that Rock Band is going to have a ridicolous amount of downloadable songs and maybe even albums.

Thoughts?

Didn't someone say there was going to be something on Rock Band on Friday?

Maybe they'll tell us even more new stuff then.

yes it was a let down, all except RockBand so far, basically the only game that has had news to live up to my E3 expectations has been RockBand (so far).

well E3 isnt exactly a 1 day thing. they arent going to give all the best presentations and everything the 1st day, and leave some poor schmuck to try to sell BASKETBALL PINATA 09 to a crowd that just got done with Bioshock, MGS4, Rock Band, etc.

I thought E3 was awesome. This is the first year I've seen any of it so soon. Living in Australia we dont get g4tv and I only got ADSL this year.

So many cool videos out that I've been waiting to see for ages. One other thing I really liked was a small game coming to the PSN, can't remember what it was called but it looked sweet.

But yeah, not much announced, but it doesn't matter coz they built on a lot of already announced things.

Aside from what others have said about not blowing it all in one day, there's pretty much no way this year could live up to last few years. We just entered a new hardware generation, so there's much, much less hardware stuff to be showed off by the big three. Instead of announcements about Wii and PS3 specifics like last year, all Nintendo and Microsoft have are minor new hardware things and lots of software. The Nintendo Zapper, Halo 3 XBox 360, and PS3 price drop and 80gb model are probably the most significant hardware things out there from those companies. Not to mention, the new format has decreased the spectacle of it all, and a lot of the old noise, flash, and flesh contributed to the overall wow factor of E3.

I understand all that, it just seemed that the big 3 were all saying they were going to "blow us away" and that this is "the best year for videogames ever". And while like i said, all the games that are coming are very exciting, there was very little new that was revealed despite what they seemed to lead us all to believe with the hype.

I thought E3 was going to be crap this year...so I'm surprised by how much information is coming out of it.
