Has anybody else experienced their whammy bar breaking under normal use? It sounds like the spring is just rolling around inside the guitar as if it broke in halfway.
I was playing Foreplay/Long Time with my friends when next thing i know the whammy bar just goes "limp" and stopped springing back into place.
How do I get my guitar fixed/replaced?
I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever.

Same thing happened to mine, go to support.ea.com/rockband/ and request a replacement

I went to the site that you suggested but there are only four options and none involve the whammy bar. One is for faulty fret buttons, next is for faulty strum bar, if they put the wrong guitar in the box, or if its not working at all.
I called them and they do the same options on the phone so then i try and get a representative and they hang up on me. Any other ideas?
I mean my strum bar doesn't work well but it works so I don't know if I honestly could say that its broken.

This just happened to me tonight as well. I have two Explorers with no problems and a previous strat where the downstrum stopped working... so it's not like I'm abusive with the whammy bar. I just felt the spring pop and now the whammy is limp. Time for guitar #3.

Mine broke too. Days before the strum bar crapped out, no less.
Oh well, new guitar arriving Monday.
Oh, and a solid, quick fix that won't void the warranty? Get a rubber band, wrap one end around the whammy and the other around the little strap nub thingy. Works like a charm.

Is there anyway i could get it replaced without having to have something else crap out i mean the strum bar is on its way to crapping out but still.

Mine just broke as well. Has anyone opened the guitar up to see if the spring just came loose? or if it was a plastic piece that broke.
If it's hosed has support responded to this request?

Idk but I'd definitely love to get a EA or Harmonix person to answer this question because their hotline just hangs up on me when I call and I'd rather get this taken care of because I like the guitar a lot and I like the game even more.

It seems in principle like it would just be a spring that popped, and I can hear something rattling around the inside of the guitar... so in all likelihood it's an easily replaceable spring, but I'd still rather get it taken care of under warranty than attempt to fix it myself. I can't say enough how much I love this game... between all the instruments and world tour mode, it will definitely have a longer lifespan than anything else I've ever played (except maybe Goldeneye which I'm pretty sure sapped at least 2 solid years off my life). That said, the reliability of the instruments leaves a bit to be desired.

I think it has to do with the fact that harmonix was doing this for the first time and they didn't use red octane to develop them. You're completely right about getting it fixed under warranty. If you dont get it done under warranty and play with it yourself trying to fix it and you don't then you're screwed because you probably voided the warranty.

My whammy bar also broke under normal use and then just a day later the strum bar went. I am currently waiting for a box to ship the original back to EA. I will probably just go buy an Xplorer to use in the meantime and as a back up later on.
