This is one of my favorite songs in rock band, just wondered if anyone else felt this way about "Outside"?

Nah I don't really like it. Just isn't my style.
Just curious, is this the first time you've heard that song or that band?

I like it a lot as well. Couldn't find anymore of their stuff on Napster, unfortunately...

I love listening to it but can't get the hang of playing it. The whole style of it throws my playing off. The song itself rocks and I vaguely remember hearing the band once before. I can remember the name and when I heard it. That's it. Don't know if that classifies as having heard them or not.

Yes and it will make you crap your pants.
Fun, hard, awesome. I love Timmy with all my heart and soul. And singing it is such a blast.

Practice it. There's a pattern you can pick up fairly quickly if you just play it through a few times on slow. I got through it on hard after about five tries...its a fun song once you learn how to play it.

Definitely one of my favorites. I bought the album "Abort" back around 1992 I think, although I don't have it with me where I'm living. The game version is certainly slightly different unless my memory is faltering.

No. I have the original too and they're exact. A little bit of volume adjusting here and there. Not too much. And of course it's a master so it may have been edited a bit on it's way to the album but nothing significant or worth noting.

I agree with this message.
I've been listening to it the last few days almost the entire time I've been at my PC with Winamp open. :p

Outside is one of my favorite bonue songs also.
I tried to find some more stuff from them and am under the impression they haven't made music as a group for over 10 years now but 3 of the members were founding members of Harmonix.

Yeah, you're bound to be right. The differences are probably just attributable to the remixing they've had to do from the master tracks for the game. I just didn't remember hearing the "bright lights flashing" on the outro section playing through it. :)

The version of Outside on Rock Band is different from the version on Abort. The version on Rock Band is the original version from Tribe's first CD Here At The Home. You can download the entire Here At The Home CD on my website. Link below.

RB was the first time I've heard this song, and I'm impressed. I love the sound they get from the guitars, especially in the beginning, I like the harmonizing of the voices... Very upbeat, high-energy stuff. Definitely one of my favorite bonus tracks. Lengthy and awesome enough that I wouldn't have classified it as "bonus" material at all except that I'd never heard of the group. There are a few songs I'd never heard in the main game, but I'd heard of the groups before (apart from the New Pornographers and Coheed and Cambria.)
I measure the success of a bonus song by asking myself, would I happily get this as DLC after hearing it? The answer for Outside is a resounding yes.

Fabulous! Thank you kindly for the pointer, I appreciate it. I might have to go and pick up a copy of Abort again from Amazon or somewhere... it's one of the albums I own that I never got around to ripping to MP3 before moving over to the U.S.
