In a recent video posted on reuters.com the head of Global Digital Music (?) says...
"Right now what you can do already is you can download songs so you can have more songs to play in Rock Band."
So either he's just mixed up and means u can download songs from the Playstation store/whatever the xbox call their store.. OR that feature will be part of the new website thats coming (but should have already been live when the game came out)

It wouldn't make sense to buy DLC online, how would it then play it on your console?

In Halo 3 you can mark video's and screenshots in people's file shares to download to your xbox on the website. Once you logged into Halo on your xbox it would autodownload everything you marked on the website. Maybe this is the same type of this.

the problem is though that this isn't a microsoft website and i think the only way to do that would have to be a microsoft website so you can access your gamer tag. then ps3 would get angry so i don't see this working.

Hmm... the Bungie site is linked to my GT. The Forza 2 site is linked to my GT. The Guitar Hero website is linked to my GT. I don't see how hard it would be to take those and connect it to the DB that our M$ Points are tracked in to see if we have enough points to get the DLC.

Point.
I wonder how risky that is. I mean this is one expensive game what are the risk of people nabbing free DLC (this is the internet here and it's notorious for it's "freebies"). Maybe just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.
I call BS.

Well theres already an online PS3 store. Right now i think its only for PSP games, but u use your same log in as on the PSN and have all the funds in ur wallet.
I'm just really hoping HMX makes this possible otherwise everyone outside the US importing the game (including myself) wont be able to access and DLC.
