I just read today that "Enter Sandman" will be in RB.
The article mentioned that its No. 22 in VH1's All-Time-Metal list.

This is what VH1 says on their webpage:
'So break out your Slayer T-shirt and jack those speakers up to 11, as VH1 presents the 40 Greatest Metal Songs'

makes sense to me...

I looked at the topic title and thought I bet that even though there's only 3 replies at least one of them is complaining "that's not metal" and hey look at that there's 2 of them.

So before anyone else says anything....

There's more than one type and more than one defintion of metal, get the hell over it.

Also in this case they're dealing with old songs that could be considered hard rock now but were likely considered metal then. Dressing up like a demon, painting your face and having people thinking your name stands for Knights In Satan's Service was probably metal back then.

Apprently now you've got to scream nonsense for "lyrics" while wearing all black and looking like a girl or repeat the same guitar riffs, sing about dragons, stuff on fire, the time before the light and/or a dark night in all of your songs over and over so they all sound the same to be metal.

Man, can you read my mind!?! Stop it! Thats exactly what i am thinking about this topic.

Maybe someone should found a Task-Force that decides about every song to which group of music it belongs... And if your song isnt declared to be Metal than youre not allowed to play on official Task-Force-approved Metal festivals...

I just think that there is a better song from each band on the list.

Thar's quite a sad list. Not only are a lot of songs in the list not worthy of being in there but at the same time they left out some true all time classics for crap like Rock you like a Hurricane!?

im not saying these songs arent metal but their are way better songs by these bands. a song that would be sweet in rock band would be aces high by maiden or the ripper by priest

Yes, and alot of these songs don't fall under it.

Also in this case they're dealing with old songs that could be considered hard rock now but were likely considered metal then. Dressing up like a demon, painting your face and having people thinking your name stands for Knights In Satan's Service was probably metal back then.

The list is supposed to be about songs, not bands. Dressing up like satan and playing fall out boy does not make fall out boy metal.

Apprently now you've got to scream nonsense for "lyrics" while wearing all black and looking like a girl or repeat the same guitar riffs, sing about dragons, stuff on fire, the time before the light and/or a dark night in all of your songs over and over so they all sound the same to be metal.

Retarted comments like this is exactly why i believe you're not qualified to post here.

i am never watching vh1 again

Only ONE song is Slipknot? And to think, Before I Forget got the Grammy for best METAL performance of it's year. Hmm. Oh well, it's a nice list, though.

Whoa, same here.

I'd like to volounteer for that genre-deciding "task force."

Alot of those songs ARENT metal. They arent metal now, nor were they when they came out. Alot of those songs were out before the genre "METAL" was around... They were "Hard rock" or just "Rock" back then, and are now "classic rock" or "Rock oldies".
Anyone that thinks Kiss is metal, has a few screws lose.
