View Full Version : Coffee or Tea?
I can't sleep so I decided to make a thread! Which hot beverage do you prefer? Personally, I enjoy tea much more than coffee...... but I also enjoy a cup of coffee every now and then. In fact, I found a place that makes Tim Horton's coffee taste like awful hot tap water (Canadians, you know what I'm talking about)
Anyways, I understand that it's late at night and nobody will respond, but I assume people will tomorrow

Peppermint Tea is epic.
Peppermint Tea is epic.
I thought so too.... until I found out it was just peppermint leaves and no tea
Coffee.
From Tim Hortons, double-double.

I used to drink Tim's until I discovered mountain bean
Mountain Bean. I don't think we have that in the Toronto area. When I visit my sister in Vancouver I always go to JJ Bean. That is AWESOME stuff. So good...mmmmm.....need to bring that to the east coast.
As far as I know there are only two locations. One in Vancouver and one in Winnipeg (of all places)

Well you lucked out man. I'll definitely try to find the Vancouver one next time I visit my sis.

Big fan of sweet tea. Hot tea if I'm feeling sick.

Sweet Tea. We just call that Iced Tea around these parts. First time I travelled to the Southern US I asked for Iced Tea and they brought me regular old tea with ice.
I learned to ask for SWEET Iced Tea after that.

It's pretty excellent coffee at a decent price. Definitely worth the look

Yeah, the South, you gotta be specific with the kind of tea you order. A lot of places though if you order tea, they'll ask "sweet or unsweetened". Apparently sweet tea isn't very popular out West, or so I've been told anyway.

Actually I did notice that. If I was somewhere touristy they'd ask which I wanted. If it was somewhere off the beaten path I had to tell them.
I also had to have a waitress explain what grits was....lol. She actually couldn't really explain it, so I passed.

I like them both but I drink a lot more coffee than tea. Starbucks Red Eye.
Stew are there a lot of Starbucks' in Winnipeg?
Toronto has it's fair share, but I was shocked when I went to Vancouver and it was Starbucks every 2 feet.

Grits is a Native American corn-based food common in the Southern United States, consisting of coarsely ground corn.Grits can also be made from wheat.
Also grits are nasty IMO.
I do like me some Oats though. W/butter and milk and suger,......;)

Coffee prices are to high. That is why I drink a Red Eye. No cream no sugar just coffee. I actually like 7elevens Hazel Nut blend but Star Bucks provides that Espresso shot that gives that extra kick. Now a days there seem to be more Star Bucks than 7eleven.

There are seriously NO 7eleven's anywhere around where I live. I think the closest one might be like 30-40 miles away towards Shepherdsville/Louisville.

In Shepherdsville i think. The Circle K up the street has a killer Jamacan Blend, and these little creamer deals that have expresso like effects. Num Yummy. :D

Although i found out that Tea can give a man kidney stones today at the hospital.
Yep. I love tea, both sweet iced tea and hot tea. But, I can no longer have them because I went through five years with six painful kidney stones that had to be removed because they were too large to pass. So, they asked for a urine sample, not just a sample but 24 hours worth... had to pee in a jug and keep in it the frige...
Anyway, I was told to keep from having kidney stones in the future I would have to do without the following: Black Teas, Wheat Bread, Asparagus, and Caffeine...
I just said, "Well, at least I can still drink Jim Beam in the winter and Vodka in the summer, right?" To which he said, "As long as you mix it with caffeine free mixers, you'll be fine" "Damn," I replied, "No more Jager Bombs then" "Not if you don't want to see me every 10 to 12 months, no" he responded.
So, I took his advice and while I have had a few stones over the past six years, they have been small enough to pass with a minimal amount of pain...

Coffee.
From Tim Hortons, double-double.
I looooooooooooooove Tim Horton's.:D A friend of mine moved here from New York and brought tons of Tim Hortons with her. She brewed it at work one day and I was hooked ever since. It doesn't leave a bitter aftertaste like most other coffee brands do.
Now I give her cash for her sister to ship me Tim Hortons every couple of months.:D

Yesssss. Have you ever tried it with amaretto in it? They're BFFs.
I like both, although I drink more tea than I do coffee. Coffee usually makes me very, very jittery, so I try to keep it to a minimum.

Tea is the best. I drink at least one cup a day, even in the summer. My favorite is green tea but I go for various herbal and black teas on occasion. I also almost never sweeten my tea either. I like it plain and rather strong. Those recommended brew/steeping times on the box I always multiply by 2 or 3. :D
I don't drink coffee. At all. I blame the fact I once ordered hot chocolate from a Dunkin' Donuts as a kid and they gave me chocolate flavored coffee. It was awful. I have not had coffee ever since then.

I don't care for either. Usually I just drink water or juice (orange and grapefruit mixed I drink most mornings with breakfast). When I need caffeine I drink soda (especially the new blue Mountain Dew, it's friggin' delicious) and occasionally I drink hot chocolate or hot apple cider.

I'm scaling back on coffee, I probably had coffee for blood at one point I drank so much of it, now I'm starting to drink tea more often. Black, green, white, it's all good, I like ginger root and peppermint too.

Actually, coffee is NOT that bad for you if you use it in moderation. It is high in antioxidants and clinical studies have indicated that it may lower your risk of getting Parkinsons and Type 2 Diabetes.
