...IS possible!

Yes, reread that. This is not a thread to whine about it, because I just did it for a good two hour run.

I have no idea why it worked, but holding down the trigger while singing the entire song seemed to work just fine. My bandmates assured me it wasn't too out of sync and they really enjoyed being able to hear the singing instead of just seeing the meter wobble up and down.

What's going on here? I thought it was technically impossible. is it just that it's impossible if we run into bad bandwidth conditions or a weakest-link player with a lot of packet drops? These guys were able to headset-chat pretty smoothly without a lot of issues, so maybe that was key...

I GOTTA try it again sometime. Being able to fill in the vocals for reals really improved the experience, and we had a lot of fun!

If anybody wants a vocalist who can do every song in the game on Hard at 80-100%, drop me a line at gamertag HeXcoda.

That's pretty awesome and I'm sure plenty of people here will want to know that info!

This was pointed out a while back though it probably wasn't meant to be used this way I see nothing wrong with it if you want people to be able to hear you sing.

I really hope it doesn't get abused.

It's in the manual but I guess people tend to not read it.

I don't remember reading anything stating that hearing online vocals was impossible. The issue was bandwidth usage. If you have bandmates with good connections than I guess you are ok, but you are trying to stream real-time vocals to everyone, along with all the other data, then people with slower connection speeds are going to get laggy. If it works and no one is lagging, go for it.

That's a main reason why they probably don't want people doing this.

Yeah, lol. Went for a late night smoke after playing rock band and ended up reading it.

I know you can get them to hear your voice with the triggers, but I didn't think it'd be possible to score your voice and transmit it at any decent speed given HMX said in interviews they couldn't implement online voice due to technical issues.

I can see it being a bandwidth hog, though. This is only viable if the team has good, stable, solid connections. I don't recommend someone just start doing it immediately on joining -- tell your band ahead of time you're gonna try it as an experiment, then ask them after the song (or mid-song) if it sounds okay. If not, stop and sing normally. If it works... huzzah!

I always do it when I sing and tell other ppl to do it when I play drums.
