A pink bottlenose dolphin has been spotted in Louisiana. While experts believe that this dolphin is an albino or an oddly mutated specimen, I'm pretty sure it's the real-world equivalent of a shiny Pokemon. Trainers in the know understand that shiny Pokemon are extremely rare variations with special coloring. In the mainline Pokemon role-playing games, the chances of catching a shiny Pokemon are 1 in 8,192.
Charter boat captain Erik Rue noted, "It was absolutely stunningly pink. I had never seen anything like it. It's the same color throughout the whole body and it looks like it just came out of a paint booth."
Feel free to believe that the dolphin accidentally swam through a paint booth. I will believe that it's a shiny Pokemon. What say you?!?

It happens. If anyone has the Planet Earth DVD's, watch closely on the... I think it's the jungle episode, there is a pink elephant in it! There's a scene with a bunch of elephants moving through a clearing in the jungle and one of them is totally pink, it's awesome.

its 'reel' big fish, as in, like, catching a big fish... and dolphins are mammals! unless ur from buffalo then the dolphins are fish cause u wanna squish the fish.

The G4 link is not the only one who just reported it yesterday - I found a few that reported it on the 4th and 5th actually.
And no, its not a fake, its a mutated version of an albino dolphin.

This reminds of that one episode of Pokemon where Ash and the gang stumble across an entire island full of pink pokemon.
Does anyone else remember this, or am I just recalling something that never happened?

My best guess is it's a combination of an albino mutant and a diet of krill... if they turn flamingoes pink, it'll probably do the same to a dolphin in the right circumstances.

Yeah, it's real. Look at its red eyes; gotta be albino.
