I am going to try this out tomorrow when my buddy brings some of his RB bundle over.

I want to see if it is possible to plug in two mics at the same time and sing different verses. I am going to plug in my mic and his mic to his hub and then plug his out going usb cable into my hub and hopefully it will read both mics. If it works, i know we arent going to sing at the same time because it would probably mess it up, but it would be cool if we could sing different verses and what not.

Has anyone tried this yet?

No, but it would be awesome. I'm thinking backup vocals...............

yep, plus whatever instrument the other person would be playing could get some "crowd time" in too when there arent any lyrics!

isn't that just local tug-of-war?

yes you can have two profiles and sing in a match, but i want to be able to have two people available during BWT and band quick play!

No way that could work. I mean each person can only play one instrument so it can't possibly read both at the same time. One most likely won't get picked up at all while the other one will. Unless however you used two different mics and what I mean by this is one from the Rock Band bundle and another usb mic that isn't made by Rock Band but still that might not work because of how the players can only use one instrument

Having two mics plugged into a hub and then that output plugged into my hub as one mic might work! I will post back tomorrow if it does work or not, but in theory, it could work.

The only reason it most likely will not work is because it doesn't allow you to use the same instrument twice at a time, and in order for it to work both mics would have to be logged in you know what I mean. I'd just get a mic stand and put it in between you guys and take turns, maybe RB2 will allow for back up singers.

We can only hope.

what i am trying to say is that i hope it will register both mics as one mic. And then maybe that will work. Who knows. But i do agree that they have a whole lot more innovation with RB 2 that they can really make it an even more awesome game. BWT online, back up vocals, switching instruments, ect...

Yeah if it registers them both as one mic, which is very possible. It would work and that would be cool. Let us know if it works.

Mics don't really log in, a regular controller does. Then you just use the mic to sing, so it COULD be possible. But it is also very possible that the game just looks for a mic until it finds one and then assigns it to the controller.

To be clear, plugging two usb devices into a hub before plugging in the hub does not make the two device into one device. The xbox and/or ps3 is still going to enumerate through all devices attached to all hubs (actually, the hubs respond too).

Most likely, the Rock Band software is just going to read from one device during a song and leave the other device "unopened".

This could potentially work, but only if Harmonix decided for some reason to open both microphone devices, read from them both, blend the signals together, and then run the game process on the combined input of both devices.

Odds are against you, but good luck!

I have tested it and it does not work. It will read only one mic. It was worth a shot though.

Bummer.
