Late 60s into the 70s...I know Sabbath is on the horizon but heres some songs that combined with whats already there, would make some nice 4-8 song sets(IMO...clearly if you want death metal, this lists gonna suck...to each their own)

Late 60s into early/mid 70s
"Paint it Black" Rolling Stones
"Born to be Wild" Steppenwolf
"All Along the Watchtower" Jimi Hendrix
"We?re an American Band" Grand Funk Railroad
"Man on the Silver Mountain" Rainbow
"Tush" ZZ Top

Late 70?s
"Jet Airliner" Steve Miller Band
"Sultans Of Swing" Dire Straits
"Walk This Way", Aerosmith

***70s Bands song packs***
Foreigner (Hot Blooded ?77, Double Vision ?77, Urgent ?82)
Led Zeppelin (too many to list)
KISS (same as above)
Cheap Trick (I Want You to Want Me, Surrender, Dream Police)

The 80s is where the content needs MOST work(maybe cause my teens were in the 80s)...here is my thoughts for beefing up the song lists for the 80s rock/metal scene;

80s through to the early 90s
“Heartbreaker” Pat Benatar
“We Got The Beat” Go-Go's
“Caught Up In You” 38 Special
“I Ran” A Flock Of Seagulls
“Rock The Casbah” Clash
“Shout at the Devil” Motley Crue
“Breaking the Chains” Dokken
“Uncle Toms Cabin” Warrant
“18 and Life” Skid Row
“Don”t Tell Me You Love Me” Night Ranger
“Runaway” Bon Jovi
“Coming Of Age” Damn Yankees
“Breaking the Law” Judas Priest
“Photograph” Def Leppard
“Holy Diver” Dio
“Blackout” Scorpions
“Jet City Woman” Queensryche

***Multiple Songs by these Bands***
AC/DC

[B]Iron Maiden
[the best ones have already been used, Trooper, Number of the Beast)
Queensryche
[Operation: Mindcrime & Empire both scream to be full album downloads]
Van Halen & Van Hagar
[honestly too many for either version of this band]
Guns'n'Roses
[Appetite for Destruction; Full Album DL]
Metallica
[bring it!]

<Styx, REO Speedwagon, ELO, Journey, Bangles, Duran Duran MIGHT rely too heavily on keyboards to make them viable but I would be all for them if they could make it work>

Now, for my diatribe;

Ok, as I see it?the songs that shipped with the game(or on the DLC) for the most part are classics and could be played on virtually any rock station(of course, one that plays Mississippi Queen will probably not also play Blackened in regular rotation but?who knows). So, any song that I wanted to offer in this list had to be filtered through some selection criteria first.

I like Avenged Sevenfold?but I also like AC/DC. I like The Offspring as well as Devo(not advocating for them?tho, Whip it?nvm)?I actually like a LOT of different music from thrash to techno to southern rock, I can listen to bluegrass and older country too. So to me, after being a well known song, the second criteria would have to be a song that?s interesting musically.

If you break down the periods in the game, the 60s era is lacking but you really can?t add some of the early 60s stuff?I mean the Ventures(please and sorry singers)? So I stuck to the later half of that decade and into the early 70s, they seem to ?fit? with what is already in the game very well.

As for the song choices in my 80s and 90s list...a lot of personal preference went into that...so, hypocrite? Maybe... but i like it i like it!!! :)

they do need to put more 60's in, and you made some great suggestions

led zeppelin is a given, i'll literally buy just about every song they release if they can ever get the rights to the songs and all.. cheap trick will be great, i wouldnt be surprised if we see "surrender" down the road since everybodys asking for previous GH songs

i do like some of the 80s suggestions too, and really question why we havent seen some come to think of it..

and pretty much every "mutiple songs" DLC u listed i agree with.. iron maiden i'd love to see "hallowed be thy name", "children of the damned", and "wasting love".. i just honestly do not understand why we have yet to see "hallowed be thy name" in any of the games yet

good suggestions though, very well thought out!!

I would bet its like pulling whale teeth!

They(Page and Plant) are rightfully proud of their music and are obviously better with the finances than 99.9% of the old rock star types...otherwise we'd have heard Stairway to Heaven as background music for a Vigra commercial by now.

That band is/was as good at business as they were at music…and good for them too!

I can't argue with your list at all, great obvious choices and HMX needs to listen up.
We really do need some more 60s stuff too, especially Hendrix. For all the big choices there it's pretty obvious that most people will buy them (AC/DC, Led Zep etc.).

As for Walk This Way by Aerosmith... I say do the Run DMC and Aerosmith version as it then gives diversity for vocals at least and is a bloody good song.

Yeah that list kinda got outta control...I wanted to 'flesh-out' the 60-70s songs and then rolled into the music of my teenage years. Just couldn't stop...if they would/could release 80s metal packs. That'd be a dream!

I was wondering when someone was going to get it right! This is an awesome list. I mean, there's no such thing as a "complete list" because this game could grow indefinitely, but I would dl each and every one of these songs. Excellent suggestions, let's hope HMX listens and grants us at least a few of these!
