Headset as the mic

I've seen people talk about using their headset in place of the mic. How do you do this?

you plug in your headset to a controller and can sign in with a profile (360) and use it as a mic

I highly advise against this for the simple reason that the 50+ times I've tried it so far, the lag is unbelievable compared to the actual USB microphone. I've even tried using the headset mic on a USB wired 360 controller, and it was just as bad.

I went in and tried to set the lag offset, but the problem is that it seems to work for ALL instruments, and you cannot adjust it for individual instruments (maybe you can and I'm just stupid??? hopefully because I'd love to sing and drum/guitar without buying a mic stand).


ps even turning the mic all the way down in volume so you don't hear your own voice doesn't help because your voice is always lagging behind on the pitch-meter on the screen...so you have to start singing 1/4 to 1/2 second early and it totally screws everything up =(
