Mario has basically been in every type of game imaginable (except the Shooter (As far as I know)).

Now rank your favorite Mario appearance! These are the genres I can think of, I probably missed a few.

Sorry haha, I needed to do some research on Mario games so I wouldn't get flamed.

Hehe

This is a tough one! I love the old school 2D side scrolling... but I also love the 3D Mario... BUT I ALSO LOVE the RPG games.... grrg.

the 3-D platformers for me, although that's just because of Super Mario 64. 2-D are a close second with everything else pretty lame.

Easily RPGs. Thousand-Year-Door is one of the greatest games ever made, in my opinion. I love RPGs in general, what with the ability to play the game in a multitude of ways.

Currently in Thousand-Year-Door I am trying to beat everything when only getting BP when I level up

I really like the Paper games (I love Intelligent Systems), but the 2-D scrolling games are a VERY close second.

2-D Platformers easily.

Mario Party. We use to play the crap out of those games on my buddy's Gamecube back in the day.

2-D platformers.
Followed by 3-D platformers, then RPGs.

I agree with this statement.

Thousand Year Door is and will always be in my top 10 favorite games.

And Mario Kart is in Sports.

2D easily, followed distantly by Kart and RPGs.

I refuse to let Mario Kart be in the same catagory as those stupid spinoff sports games.

Other works for me though....

My favorite Mario game is Super Mario 64, so I voted for 3D Platformer.

The 2-D platformers. Without a doubt. I never really liked Mario 64, the sports ones suck, and if I want to play a party game, I'll just play Rock Band.

I love that game so much, my highest level profile has a Level 83 Mario. I have everything. All badges, all recipes, all everything. Amazy Dayzees give me 2 star points. :D

I'll take my Mario games in 2D.

Loved Kart and RPG when they first came out on the SNES, but have lost my taste for them after so many sequels.

I am with ArmsAreLoud exactly.
The paper games are great (in fact, I just bought both the 64 and GC versions for my Wii LOL) but the 2-D Sidescrollers are the beezknezz
