When LeBron can run two Hall of Famers out of town, give me a call.
'Til then, Kobe is King. ;)

Kobe is a better pure shooter. Lebron is a better passer, rebounder, and defender.
Here's how I compare them. Kobe is a lesser version of Mike. Lebron is a better version of Magic. Lebron wins

I'm not a fan of Kobe's off-court behaviour, so to me LeBron wins by default.

Kobe Hater since '99 so yeah hahah. I respect Kobe's game, but hes not what he was 3 years ago when it was him and everyone else. Lebron and D-Wade have passed him, and before long so too will Chris Paul

At this moment in time? LeBron for sure
In Kobe's prime? I don't think LeBron could beat him one-on-one, unless he could put up 82 points
This isn't a very fair matchup though, because they play different positions

I agree with this, except I think that pulling the "Kobe had 82 in one game" thing should even matter at all in an argument. If you put a good passing team around a dominant player on a hot streak, he's bound to score a lot. He only scored so much because the rest of his team scored so little. ;)

I think I could score 82 against those really crappy Raptors teams...wait, all Raptors teams have been crappy?

Chris Bosh is insane though. I'm hoping the Bosh-to-Magic rumor ends up true in 2010, he and Howard are best friends, and that would be one heckuva lineup of Howard-Nelson-Bosh-Lewis-Lee out there

And do you know why they were traded to the Suns? Because they weren't that great under the coaching staff of the Magic. Suns' coaching staff > Magic's coaching staff. Well...at least, that was true, when D'Antoni was coaching.

Bosh is either going to Cleveland to make a dynasty with Lebron, New York to do the same, or somewhere in Texas (Dallas, San Antonio, Houston) to go home.

LeBron made an impact right away. Its like the Ovechkin thing. He was supposed to be great, and HE WAS, which is awesome. Plus, he's so young.

No, it was because Shaq wanted to be a movie star (Shazam!), otherwise we would've had a championship. And Grant Hill spent eight years getting millions of dollars while playing a quarter of the games, then bolting for a championship-caliber team, and he wasn't even traded. Really, the best thing he could've done for sapping our salary cap for eight years would've been to sign for the midlevel exception and play for one season with us, THEN left

Kobe is a Lakers so there you go. Kobe has three rings, I know people will say it was because of the Big guy but all champion teams are won by teams not individuals. Jordan didn't win until he got Pip. The Lakers would have one two more championships in the late nineties if they did not half to play Utah. That team had there number. Magic was the greatest ever.

Kobe is a much batter player than Lebron in his prime at the present. This is a comparison of a players basketball skill not their off-court behavior.

I can't stand Kobe...and LeBron makes funny commercials, so him (the one with him joining the Cleveland Browns was great; and the ones from a couple years ago where he played like 5 different characters, fantastic).

At this point in time, Lebron is better than Kobe. With less help Lebron and the Cavs pushed the Celtics to 7 games last year in the playoffs, whereas Kobe with a stacked Lakers team (Although it was without Bynum) could only manage 6 games. Also Lebron has the better all around game. Kobe is a better shooter than Lebron, but James can Pass, Rebound, and Block shots way better than Bryant.

LeBron is more marketing hype than player. His decision making and execution, especially in fourth quarter situations, is poor.
Also if they ever called travelling or charging in the NBA he would lose a huge majority of his offensive capabilities. It's such a joke to see him recklessly plow into the lane and draw fouls. Or four steps to the basket with a wink wink nudge nudge because no one ever calls it.
Also, this is a false choice. I'll take the Celtics/Jazz/Spurs playing good team basketball over these "stars" any day.

Kobe got game but his arrogance will kill his career before and injury will!
I still think Kobe is better. But this is probably the last year that Kobe is better. Ever since LeBron picked up Kobe's work ethic and killing instinct, LeBron has been on a tear. And as he gets older and refines those traits even more, he might become the best ever.

its funny how people are just blinded to the faults of these two players.
kobe is a complete ball hog and has no idea of what a team is supposed to be like. its a good thing that he has few off shooting nights because when he is off, he cant even get the ball to anyone else. he is most effective by sitting on the bench. on those nights because he cant contribute any other way. he is not as good a defender as people like to make him out to be either.
lebron makes tons of mistakes down the stretch. but at least the guy knows that if his shot is off that night to get the ball to someone else. his ability to understand the team game aspect is why he gets my vote.
oh, and you lakers lovers who like to trot out all the trophies? you can thank the refs. had they ever actually called a game fairly in the late 90's early 00's, half of shaqs whopping 60-75% FT% would have been called off for overstepping the line, kobe would have been called for charging millions of times... that and the blatent and outrageous traveling calls that the refs choked their whistles on...
sorry... NBA stuff gets me pretty riled up.

Replace the word Lebron with Kobe and the argument is the same. I gaurantee you Kobe's average drops about 15 a game if they called travelling.

Apples you hit it right on the dot, but of course no one will listen, becuase the NBA has already blinded them.
