well, i was on wikipedia and found these music games set for 2009, there's like 4 of 'em already set out.

Hard Rock: Van Halen--- OK, well maybe it'll be a fun game, Van Halen has some great music, and i wouldn't mind a video game for them. hopefully they wont make it stripped-down to horrible gameplay and great music.

Band Hero:--- Ummm, what do they think RB/GH is??? i think this will be a swing-and-miss situation, easily overthrown by Guitar Hero and Rock Band. unless they have Custom Songs, Character/Band Creator, amazing set lists, and nice Venues.

Guitar Hero 5:--- Yeah, GHWT with a new setlist, and some new venues--- BIG SUPRISE! i'll stick with Band Hero for this one. XD

...and another game for the DS... not to mention
-Guitar Hero Metallica
-The Beatles: Rock Band
-Guitar Hero Greatest Hits
-Guitar Hero Modern Hits

...and most likely more and more games filling up the shelves. i seriously think in aear or so, Guitar Hero will eat it's self away anbe stripped down to what we can already see; they just took GHIII, added some more features, through in a new set, some venues and called it "Guitar Hero World Tour", so i imagine GHV,GHGH, GHMH, ect. will follow that process.

as for rock band, slow and steady wins the race, but only one game within the next year? my hopes are high that "Rock Band 3" will be the best music game ever, and outshine the 6 games released from now to December by Activision.

here's where i got the least of the information, but it basicly says everything you need to know

Guitar Hero is going overboard. Not others. 8>1 IMO.

Activision is trying to milk as much money as they can from the rhythm genre before it dies. Sad thing is, they're making it die faster by oversaturation.

I'm actually glad one of the games they're putting out is NOT a rock based game - DJ Hero. People sometimes forget the rhythm genre isn't just rock based games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero 1 was simply the first of those. Rhythm games have been made using many genres of music (though mostly dance/pop/electronica).

I have had a love affair with music games for about 10 years now. What Activision does isn't going to stop me from buying them. There's plenty of other rhythm games out there if you know where to look, though admittedly many of them don't even come out outside of Japan.

I think I'm done buying DLC for GHWT. I onyl bought 5 songs, but I doubt I'll be able to play them in any other game. I'm done with Guitar Hero. I used to love it. GH3 is still fun, but GHWT, I used the unlock all songs cheat, and haven't bothered with anything else.

Thanks, Activision.

well, maybe DJ Hero will save Activision, attracting more people to the pit they're digging. Harmonix, just do what you're doing- Snoop Dogg DLC will attract people, so I think HMX will eventually win the war.

I'm trying to resist for songs I think won't come out any other way. Because they actually might. I remember when the No Doubt pack came out for GH3. I almost bought it. I'm glad I waited because we got the No Doubt album - all of those tracks plus more - for Rock Band. I simply enjoy songs more in Rock Band, for lots of reasons.

I have fun with the GH games, but I don't think it's worth investing in the DLC, so that's why I've yet to buy any of it, even though some have tempted me (a GHWT example is the Jimi Hendrix pack).

Well, I buy much more DLC for Rock Band (I have over 500 songs) than I have for GHWT, where I only buy songs I love. Drive, or Tomorrow, for example.

If the GHWT DLC were Rock Band DLC, where I'd be playing it much more, I'd have so much more. But because I don't enjoy GHWT as much as Rock Band, I don't even look at the charts, and have little to no interest.
