When I claim that my guitar is not working, do they send me one, then i send mine out, or the other way around?

Depends on how you want to do it.
If you put a deposit down, they will send you a guitar, and then you mail yours back.
If you don't put a depostit down, they will send you a box, and when they get your guitar, they will send you one.

Either way, they send you a label with the box, so you never pay a dime for shipping. The only cost of the entire process is time.

but if you put a deposit down, and they ship the new guitar, do you put your old guitar in the box the new one was sent in?

Yes, there is a box within a box. You open box #1, and inside you'll find the same exact thing you saw your guitar in when you bought a bundle (box #2). You open box #2, take the new guitar out, put your old guitar in, and it will be a bit too long (because of the head you snapped on), but box #1 is big enough to hold this. Seal it back up with tape, and send it off.
