Normally I wouldn't do this, but with reviews of RE: 5 and Madworld it seemed worth it. Resident Evil got a 3/5 and looked fairly terrible. I am very disappointed.. I'll post Madworld's score when it is posted.
Edit: Madworld turned out well with a 4/5. It looks like so much fun...

I'm not surprised.. RE5 is the worst one in the series, yet.

Yea, me as well. I figured if I didn't get that excited playing the demo and went to go preorder right away, then it wasn't worth it.

That's why i like demos alot.
If you didn't like the demo, odds are is that you won't like the actual game.
Same here, i hated the RE5 demo, it looked great, but played like crap.

I'm just glad SOMEONE gave RE 5 a low rating. All their complaints were the same I had with the demo,I would've gave it 2/5 instead though.

I was actually kind of excited for Resident Evil 5. I had every intention to buy it, then I played the demo. As soon as I was walking and hit the button to aim and immediately stopped walking, then realized I couldn't do both, I reached for the power button and turned my XBox off. Saved me 60 bucks.
Moral of the story: Who the **** makes a shooter where you can't walk and shoot at the same time?!?!!?!!

In other news, I'm actually tempted to buy a Wii now. Madworld looks sick and I'd really like to play SSBB more than the little bit whenever I go home to my parents' house and can play on my sister's.

I will be enjoying RE5 to the point of physical illness.
Good day.

I hate Xplay.
I like RE5 a bit, though it's definitely not as good as 4 or the older ones.

They did the same in RE4... I thought it captured the spirit of the older games well.

RE5's score surprised me. I thought it would clean up in the ratings, even though I'm not a big fan of the survival horror genre.

First RE game?

Overall, a good game. I like it a lot. Not as good as RE4 though.

First RE game?
Actually yeah it is. Besides watching my friend play the Resident Evil remake for the Gamecube. But that one had a fixed camera if I recall correctly and the zombies didn't run at you. I just remember like one or two on screen kind of shuffling towards you, so yeah it would make sense for you not to need to move and shoot.
IDC if all the other RE games are like that, I'm stating my opinion of my playing of the RE5 demo.
Every single core RE game does not allow move and shoot. It really would make the game a complete joke from a difficulty standpoint. If it did, it'd feel even more like a FPS or TPS instead of the current RE4 game style.
More than likely if this an issue for you, you'll hate every RE game.

Madworld might actually make me find my Wii that is buried somewhere in this house.
I actually had to rewind during the review because many of the kills were so epic

I'm glad X-Play isn't the go with the flow type anymore, they must've given RE5 the lowest review out of all other reviews. And guess what, I trust their review. I'm glad they pointed out the flaws as if Resident Evil wasn't the biggest thing in the world. I mean other reviews are like, OMIGOD it is RE5, awesome, I'm killing zombies, in RE5! 100/100.

Ok then that is fine. I might hate every single one. I think the controls are ****ty. You might not. This is a discussion thread so I'm discussing the parts about the game from what I experienced.

I'm currently on Chapter 3 of RE5, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. My only gripe is that there aren't enough inventory slots.

I love RE series. Been playing since RE1 on the playstation.
What worked in the horror genre control wise DOES NOT work now.
Why?
Because when the game was a horror game it wasn't about fast paced action and explosions. It was about being stuck in a claustrophobic hallway, limited ammo, limited saves, limited space to store equipment, the camera didn't stay quite where it needed to be so you never knew what was around the next hallway, and the controls were wonky so you never fully felt in control of the situation.
Now if this was just bad design work, or as they say it was done intentionally to heighten the feeling of terror it doesn't matter.
It worked.
However RE 4 started to bridge the gap from full on horror to horror/action. There were a lot more guns, a lot more gun fights, the zombies moved at you en masse instead of 1 or 2 at a time, and sometimes they hauled ass at you.
The controls were updated slightly to acomodate this new direction and gameplay style.
And it worked.
Now with RE5 the game is pretty much an action game with a few horror elements sprinkled throughout.
They should have updated the controls to a Call of Duty 4, Gears of War 2, or Resistance 2 style.
Gave more inventory slots, and other choices more suited for an action game instead of a horror one.
But they didn't, and the game suffers for it.
Don't get me wrong, if you love RE series it's a good game, and it's a step up in controls from RE4.
HOWEVER compared to modern shooters it seems antiquiated and outdated and in this day and age that's unacceptable.
There is an entire generation of new gamers that have never played the RE series thanks to the new influx of gamers this cycle.
How many of them are going to be soured on the entire franchise now due to the bizarre control and mechanics Capcom chose to stay 'faithful' to the series?
It's a shame.

Amen brother!
I enjoyed the demo and plan to get it one of these days. Playing online was a big plus with the demo.
I also saw a review for Madworld and actually got excited! I also found some other Wii games that look interesting too.
