Frequent downloadable songs is one of Rock Band's best aspects and will give this title life for years.

A little thing that has bothered me, about recent releases is, correct me if I'm wrong, the fact that some of the game's most exciting features, such as the crowd singing along (which I've seen asked in other threads) and the ending bonus, have been excluded from the DLC packages.

I can understand how this can save file size, but I'm hoping to atleast see both or one these a few times in upcoming releases.

Hmm. Both of those features are used rather sparingly in the on-disc tracks as well. Perhaps we just haven't had a DLC track that fits well with a crowd sing-along or a big rock ending.

I just can't see HMX short-changing us, especially when it comes to presentation, one of the aspects of the game they've spent so much time on.

I don't either. I think the crowd sings along on most of the DLC (I haven't noticed...), but I know there's a Big Rock Ending in Cherry Bomb. That's the only one I remember having one.

Thank you all for helping clarify this, I had not downloaded/witnessed any with the big rock ending as of typing.

I was basically going on the presumption that I noticed of how most of the cover editions of songs included on the disc had it - and seeing how a good chunk of the currently released DLC were covers, it looked like it would apply. (I do realise, also, there are some that just aren't 'worthy'.)

As for the sing-a-longs, it seems as if they haven't been included in any yet. It seems as if, more or less, this is a much harder feature to implement.

The BRE being a bit more basic than having to record a crowd simulation individually for given songs. Consider this, expecially with the amount of songs we should be receiving in the upcoming months.

Even with that, the extra effort would be greatly appreciated, as the singing crowd is another one of Rock Bands redeeming qualities.

I agree, the crowd sing-a-long is the type of thing that draws the casual gamer in more and more. I'm a fairly hardcore gamer, so I appreciate that type of stuff, but at the core I prefer solid overall experience. My wife on the other hand, she really gets more into it because of the things like the "play this gig for roadies!" and the crowd singing along on wanted dead or alive.

I've encountered the big rock endings (or whatever they're called) in DLC but have yet to hear the crowd sing along. And the singing along thing isn't sparsely used on the disc, it seems to be on just about every song. I didn't notice it too much at first, because it seems to primarily come out of the rear speakers on surround sound, and I didn't have those up very loud when I first started playing the game.

Once you have it turned up loud enough to clearly hear the crowd singing along, it's kind of a letdown to not experience that with the DLC songs. I hope this is added in in the future, but I can understand if it was a cost-cutting thing to keep DLC prices down, or to save time developing them, or to cut down on file size (though this one seems unlikely).
