RB2 Drum issues for PS3

I am having trouble with my drum set. it has a hard time linking with the ps3..sometimes the lights don't even come one. Once it links up and we are playing...sometimes the lights either go out or start blinking...any help is greatly appreciated. Is this a common issue or just me? Thanks!!

When the lights blink, it means the batteries are dying.

I had the same problem with my PS3 RB2 drums. The drums would be working just fine then stop responding completely, but unlike if connectivity is lost you don't get a message saying to reconnect. It just fails you out. The dongle thinks that you are still connected. The only way to reconnect is to turn the switch on and off then hit the PS button to stop the game then you have to go and press the button on the dongle, then press the ps button to start the song again. This assumes that you haven't failed out yet. This phenomenon is completely random. It can happen many times in a row or not for weeks. It is very frustrating. Of course it didn't till about 65 days after purchase. What you have to look forward to next is that your drums will not connect at all even though the game thinks that you are.

If this happens only while playing, you may have a battery jarring issue. They briefly disconnect and unsync from the dongle. To fix, put a piece of cardboard between the batteries and the cover plate, this should snug them up. Another option is to try dovanons AC Adapter mod http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88775&highlight=batteries
Warning, this could void your warranty.

If it happens when going through the menus as well as when playing you may have a USB power issue. There have been reports of fixing this using a powered USB hub.

ANother option would be to put an RMA in with EA if you are still under warranty.
