Dream Theater

Not sure about anyone else on these boards, whether you like them, or know them, but I think some Dream Theater tracks could be a damn good addition to this game. I haven't quite thought of which songs could be used as they are all pretty technical on all fronts that maybe choosing an easier one would benefit the game players!

What does anyone else think about some Dream Theater tracks, I fear I am too late to nominate as it was being done last month, so maybe a couple of replies and agreements here would get some heads turning.

It would be awesome to see the likes of Metropolis, The Dance of Eternity, As I Am, The Ytse Jam, Erotomania, The Dark Eternal Night, and so on in the game. Probably not all of them as the seems to be just one song per band.

Rush will be involved with this game and were on the latest Guitar Hero, so would be good to see more bands like this.

What does everyone else think?

I think that Erotomania would be awesome. . .Although, many of Dream Theater's songs use double bass. . .Hope they will include that. : D

Yeah, I can see that the double bass drum would be a problem, but there would be an easy way around it.. I'm sure.

I remember reading that they have made the bass a x8 multiplier because apparently it gets a bit boring during some songs... but I was thinking that DT songs would be the answer to the problems, as they are just as demanding as the guitar.

They are a must on this game, I guarantee that they would be one of the end songs to 'impress' people with.

Dude, Dream Theater=most technically skilled band ever. They need to be in here. A Change of Seasons, Ytse Jam, Erotomania, Under A Glass Moon, METROPOLIS!!!, Hell's Kitchen, The Dark Eternal Night, and maybe, you know, the whole Scenes from a Memory album.

I would give my left arm to have Dream Theater in the game.. although that would be useless as I need my left arm to play the guitar! Maybe my legs instead then, as I could sit down and play, but yes, they NEED to be in the game. It would make Rock Band complete.

my 3 top choices would be, "The Dark Eternal Night", "The Glass Prison" and of course "A Change of Seasons".

Back when Harmonix was working on GHII, people in the GH threads were wanting DT as well. I seen its been carried over here. DT should be in the game!!

Is there any way of pushing this Harmonix lot to put DT in the game, or is it just a 'wait and see' sorta thing from now on? :confused:

I completely agree that Dream Theater needs to be included. It may be best not to put them in the main story mode however, as the difficulty might be a bit too high :)

Seriously though, just about any song would make me so happy... though I am partial toward The Glass Prison, any of Scenes From a Memory, and no one else has mentioned This Dying Soul, but I love that song.

The thing about Rock Band is that it will become a huge "show off" game... what better way to show off than to play tracks which literally cause the brain to melt?

You may be right but it's just scary how amazing every single member of the band is. Every single one gets the most of out of their instruments.

This guy wanted DT so bad in GH2 he did it himself!

Just looking at that makes me want it sooooo bad... there is no better choice in my mind for a band in Rock Band (Rockband?)

I don't even like Dream Theatre, but I would go nuts for them if they were included in the game. They're such talented musicians and I can't even imagine how fun/amazing it would be to play one of their songs.

I'd all be for DT as well... But I think the sheer length of most of their songs (longer than the 7 minute plus dragonforce songs) would turn some people away

not necessarily individually the best in their field, but as a whole, they are damn incredible. jordan does some crazy stuff, and so do john and john, and mike is my favorite drummer ever in all eternity. it would be insane to try and play almost any of his parts in the game.
