I completely agree with the above poster. Female metal singers are awesome. Her screams in that song are vastly cooler in my opinion than most male death metal singers can ever be. You see, gruff men have been around the metal scene so long they're cliche, so a band like Flyleaf breathes some life into the genre.

My advice is to try to broaden your mind about what a genre of music means. Metal doesn't have to have angry vikings screaming to be metal.

I HATE that FlyLeaf song...

BUT

I have a horrible voice, and when that song came on I was on Mic and the fact that I was singing badly to a soung baout someone complaining about their ears (I think the lyrics have something to do with that) caused everyone to double over and just barely keep playing their instruments. I actually ended up on the floor unable to breath holding the mic in teh air for someone to save it, and we ended up donig a ridiculously bad duet. When it was over all six of us were crying with laughter for about five minutes.

It was one the best moments EVER.

Flyleaf isn't even death metal. They're just a christian rock band, though you can't tell too much from this song. They have some "All Around Me" or some similar titled song that is pure 100% god love, so calling them death metal is just wrong.

With that said, they still suck and also should not be in RB.

I didnt catch that unwritten rule that if anyone growled in a song it made their music genre change to death metal. i hope country singers dont start growling and be grouped in with Opeth or Dark Tranquillity, id have to kill myself.

People just need to lighten up. I'm a fan of flyleaf and a lot of other really loud hard rock bands, but I try to keep my mind open to other types of music, and even though I'm not particularly familiar with a lot the of older music, its all good. sure there's some songs on there i don't care for, i don't feel the need to spread hate for any particular band or type of music.

I know they are Alternative Metal, but I was referencing some other guys post in the topic.

I also know that they suck.

They have no finesse or touch to their songwriting. It's all garbled crap.
