Hey guys, I'm going to present an option to you.
I only own a PS2 right now.
Do you think I should:
(A)-Wait for Christmas and get a Xbox-360 from "Santa", and then buy Rock Band?
Or, (B)-Ask for the PS2 games Deluxe edition from "Santa"
This is basically also aasking which do you think would be a better deal, to get the PS2 one, or the 360 one?

I would say get the 360 version, but you'd have to get XBL to enjoy most of the added benefits. Still, $50 a year isn't much, that's less than 5 bucks a month.

i was in the same boat. i decided to go ahead and get the Xbox when GH3 came out. it is worth it if only for the downloads. a 12 + 1 month gold membership Xbox live card wasn't very expensive and neither are the points.
Just go for the xbox.

In light of all of the DLC that will be available for 360, and just the simple fact that PS2 can't go online and play, I would definitely say get the 360 and RB for that.

option 3: get a PS3. It's $50 more than the XBox, but you pay $50 less in online fees the first year, and you don't have to make your friends pay $50 each to be able to play online with you.
Plus, the PS3 version comes with a wireless guitar, whereas the 360's is wired.
Some drawbacks to the ps3 version: currently you can't get a second compatible guitar (it's coming out end of January, though maybe Harmonix will make the GH3 guitar work, who knows). Also, there's currently no headset support in online, so you can't talk about what song you want to do. That will also hopefully get fixed soon (though they haven't made an announcement about it like they have with compatibility with the GH3 guitar).
I definitely don't think you should get it for the PS2. There's no downloadable content, and that's where a LOT of the fun is going to be for Rock Band.
as for 360 vs PS3, that's a more personal choice. I love my PS3, and wouldn't trade it for the world.

I agree with Nate, downloadable content definently is the deciding factor, go for the the 360 (or ps3 :) )
