BioShock is getting a PC patch and Xbox 360 title update this week, as well as new downloadable content, with rumors suggesting new plasmids and gene tonics are inbound.
According to 2K Games’ official BioShock site, The Cult of Rapture, a new bug-fixing patch and the game’s first downloadable content will be made freely available later this week.
While the site says only that “a full list of bug fixes and everything included in the DLC will be put up on the Cult of Rapture when the downloads become available,” it’s highly likely the new content will come in the form of new plasmids and gene tonics, helping you to carve your way through hordes of deranged splicers in new and imaginative ways. Also rumored is a new feature that allows players to disable Vita Chambers (the game's save points), making it that much more challenging for hardcore gamers.
For any PC or Xbox 360 owners yet to play BioShock, put it on your Christmas wish list now - even if you're not a fan of shooters, the game's setting, the underwater world Rapture, is a stunningly realized environment and the story is filled with intrigue and twists. The game really is a must have, and the new content on the way looks set to add to the fun.
