I hate the fact you can't design the 4th member if you are only playing with 3 people. Especially since you get a random musician every time to enter the game from the main menu. How are you supposed to create a band look? In fact, I would like to see the band members as we created them regardless of how many are playing.

Otherwise, pretty damn fun!

I do wish that both the Solo Tours and BWT would either allow you to choose other created characters on your hard drive or even just randomly select them (ala WiiSports). It's pretty annoying when you end up with your avatar, two death metal bandmembers in spikes and facepaint, and a 50's bouffant blonde on the drums.

Yeah, tis a minor gripe, but I thought that was the whole point of having a character join a band. The BWT seems to function as a merely a pickup band, where it doesn't seem to truly matter who's playing as long as the band leader is in it. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to let the AI control your actual band members.

I also don't like the fact that you can't access all characters on the hard drive. I created some back up band members with my Live profile, and can't access them, because my band leader is under a different "offline" profile. Of course my band was made under a non-Live profile (took me awhile to get online), so all of my achievements stay offline. Not too big of a deal, but it would be nice if players 2, 3, and 4 could choose the characters made under my Live profile.

To be fair, I don't even care if that band member gains money. I just want them to appear as if we did have all 4 of us playing.

If you have created 4 players to join the and to begin with, but then happen to only play with 2 (the leader, plus one), will it fill in the rest of your actual band, or give you a replacement person?

I think that random members should appear in quickplay, but if you take the time to make a band, all the members should appear on stage even if there's only two playing. It's all about the immersion factor.

It gives you random characters... which is my beef.

Anyone else bothered by this?

Yes, I hated it the moment I saw that's how it worked.

Why not default to using prior playing members of the band for the non-players? That way we can just set up dummy characters if we are shorthanded and want to customize the band's look. That shouldn't be a difficult patch.

I agree for a game titled Rock BAND, you should be able to create your own band when your friends aren't over! It would simply look and feel better...For all the cusomization i can't beleive this isn't an option. I'd like to create a band in Band World Tour and Solo Tour. Please patch this and the insane "sign in" setup. Thanks in advance.

QFT.

In Solo Tour I seem to get the chick in the grey metal looking outfit with the chastity belt or the neanderthal with the spikey armor as my singer a lot. Or the chick with the reindeer horns on her back on bass. Or the fugly chick with the trihawk on guitar when I'm playing drums.

I would LOVE it if the game picked from the other created characters on the hard drive. They don't have to earn cash or anything - I just want to have some control over what my bandmates look like.

YES!!! Finally...its not a bug or some showstopper thing but this bugs the **** outta me.

You get four folks together...take the time to build YOUR version of KISS and then two can't make it for a while...Gene and Ace is left to hit the stage with Spiky hair rob zombie looking punk and some chick from the GoGos...on the drums…WTF?!?!?

Come on...it couldn't be THAT hard to simply add to the band roster portion a 'tick' to use even when/if absent!

No rewards...no money...for those missing the gig...just the likeness on stage to keep the continuity of the band...the GRAND ILLUSION ya know.

Exactly.

We had to keep coming up with reasons why "Steve" or "Fred" left the band. Eventually the running joke was that our band couldn't keep bassists.

I'd hate to gripe about such little thing, but it is annoying. I made a four man band, got thier look down, it all fits and looks good on stage. But, when there's only 2-3 of us we snd up with some loser that doesn't fit at all.

It seems like this was a no brainer to include in the game. IT puzzles me with the whole thing being about a RockBand.

Agreed. I don't understand why someone didn't campaign strongly for this at HMX prior to release.

I agree with the OP completely. I'm sorry but a cowboy drummer and a beatles looking guitarist doesn't mix with my Misfits tribute band (which is a band I am really in with my friend Roger (who plays guitar), Ruben (who plays drums) and me (playing bass and singing (or anyone else in the crowd the knows the words to the song we are playing))), which is in real life is called The Fiends, but someone all ready took that name in Rock Band so in the game we are called FieNDS.

Ya, we kept getting guys with large spikey clothes... needless to say we looked pretty stupid on stage.

You can go ahead and pretend it's a side project.

Seriously, I don't find it that much of a problem. Seeing as I'm busy focusing on the notes I have to play rather than who looks more like a rockstar in the background. Maybe I don't throw myself as far into the game like the rest of you. Meh.

I can understand why you have that beef, though.

Agree, if you want character X to be in your band and just be an AI-puppet then you should. Some of the randomly generated characters are weird and kind of goes against the concept of "build your own band, make it look like you want down to the logo on the drums" when I have a black lady in a blond beehive hairdo on the drums.

AI playing a character shouldn't get cash for the character obviously. Same with practice, but anytime a human being plays a character in a song that has the ability to fail, cash should happen.

I mean I caused my brother to get so distracted by her that he started missing notes. :p

Well hopefully it would be an easy thing to patch in. Sean can you take this to the design team and see if you can plant the idea?

I'd totally go see that band.

Agree completely with OP, though. You should be able to design the filler members in your BWT, and that band should optionally carry over as the backing band if a member starts a solo career.

If this game is supposed to allow me to live out my rock star fantasies, I should never be forced have a lumberjack in my band.

What ya think, Sean? Is this even possible? Is Sean even seeing this...please? :D
