The Mic Isn't Working.

My friends and I are playing the game, but the microphone doesn't seem to want to connect.
We plug it into the USB outlet, but it keeps on saying we need to plug it in, when it's already plugged.
All the other instruments are working.
Any idea on how we can fix this?

I have the same issue. I hardly ever use the mic too. For the most part it has been sitting on my shelf wishing to be used.

You need to use a Wiimote along with the mic for it to work.

Keneke has it right. You need your controller active in order to work.

Strangely, it can go to sleep while you're playing and you'll not have a problem (unless you want to use it for the tambourine parts)

Cool but im not dumb. I used the mic previously and understood that the mic requires the wiimote. It seems that the issue lies else where.

When do you plug the mic in to the Wii? Before you start it up or after it's started?

Sorry I can get defensive at times. I actually tried both and it still doesnt recognize the mic.

Np, I'm guessing the mic is defective, are you still under warranty? If so, I'd arrange for an RMA with EA.

I'm gonna page chatham, he's got a ton of knowledge for the Wii. Hopefully he can give you a little more insight.

With everything that has been tried on the thread so far (great job BTW, keneke) I would have to say it's probably the mic itself or it's cord that is faulty. Any Logitech USB mic will work though (including the GH mic), so I would suggest trying a replacement. Sorry OP.

Oh BTW: Before you decided the mic is toast, make sure you try it in both of the USB ports on the Wii, one of mine had a power issue in the past. (Also try the 4-port HUB if you got it)
