since somebody doesn't seem to like the wii, i wnated to see who all likes it, and who all hates it.... so here ya go. list your favorite games, if it's your only console, and why you like it.

FAV GAMES: Mario Galaxy, Call Of Duty WAW, Rock Band 2, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Fit, and Metroid Prime 3.

ONLY CONSOLE: Nope, i have a 360, PS2, and DS along with my wii.

WHY?: It's fun. sure, the 360's got war games and everything a guy like me simply loves, but a Wii lets you relax and enjoy life, thats why i love my wii.

I had one for a few months and honestly I enjoyed the Virtual Console more than anything. It then became a 250 dollar paperweight so I put that sucker on ebay.

I liked Zelda and Paper Mario but even those had weird motion control gimmicks that I could have done without.

I have a 360 and a PS3 and pretty much every other console you can think of (Gamecube, PS2, SNES, Genesis, NES, Master System, Dreamcast etc.) and it's pretty much the only console I have disliked enough to sell.

Nintendo really needs to get control of the games that get released otherwise I see it following what happened to the 2600.

Im not really sure about the Wii any more. I liked mine a lot when I got it, but it has done nothing but gather dust for at least 6 months now, I still can't bring myself to sell it for the thought that some good games have to come out for it eventually. Thats just the problem, i really loved the 4-5 nintendo games I bought with it, but then couldn't help but laugh at all the lame generic third party games with titles like "tennis player champion 4," or "monster truck derby 2" and have just run out of things to do with it. Add to that the annoying online play nintendo decided to go with, and theres no reason for me to turn it on over my xbox anymore.

Had a Wii, never played it. Sold it last Christmas for $500 to some desperate parent afraid of a shortage.

Kind of bummed now...Mad World looks like a lot of fun. Oh well.

You don't see me spreading my hatred for other consoles. Why is it permitted to seek opinion from other if everyone knows it's gonna generate a console war?

This thread wasn't a good idea. It will probably start a console war.

but... I do have a Wii. I rarely play it though.

Have one, love it. Fav games (besides RB and GH of course) are Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports.

I think the Wii is a good system, it's just that everyone underestimates it since it's the weaker of the three next gen systems (look at HMX, they didn't start releasing DLC for it until Activision started releasing it for GH:WT). There's also a terrible company that pumps out the same game every month with a different coat each time (I think they're called Data Design), not to mention the tons of remakes that have been happening. It really is unfortunate. I really enjoyed Zelda and Galaxy, I also like Trauma Center and the version of Godfather.....hell I even enjoyed Red Steel. Right now I'm playing No More Heroes and thoroughly enjoying that too. This year is looking pretty sweet. I still have yet to play Madworld, House of the dead, Deadly creatures, and Rune Factory. I'm also sure that the Conduit will kick some ass too.

I don't have a Wii, but my sister and a couple of my friends have them. I've played it a couple of times and it's been fun when playing with other people. I can foresee playing a Wii by yourself would really be no fun at all (much like the GameCube, in my eyes).

It seems that Nintendo has a knack for making consoles that are spectacular for their first-party games (most of which are based on party-play mechanics). However, most third-party games (on the Wii, specifically) are just shovelware. There are a distinct few that are great single-player experiences, but for the most part it seems like the Wii is geared towards either children or people casually playing games at a party. Not to say either of those audiences are ones that shouldn't be catered towards, I love playing Wii Sports with people.

I don't have a Wii. I enjoy certain aspects of it (Mario Party, and Wii Sports mainly), but all in all, I'm not a fan. I was a big Nintendo guy last generation, and I was super pumped when they first announced the "Revolution". And then they progressively disappointed me more and more until it was actually released. Mainly with the friend code online system (one of the reasons I never take my DS online anymore), the fact that I was told at E3 that Smash Bros would be online at launch (and then it wasn't), the onslaught of shovelware, etc. They also managed to make me not enjoy a Zelda game (I played Twilight Princess for about an hour at a friends, and I found the combat system gimmicky and not fun). Although I still hold on to the slim hope that someday, someone will make a Red Steel type game that's good.

I love my wii, I play with it every day.

My little brother owns a Wii. He spends the majority of his gaming time playing on my PS3. The Wii looks great until you buy one.
Immature joke yay. :p

I haven't turned on mine in almost a year now. So... yeah.

I sold mine, the end.

I have been thinking about doing the same.

I've used mine twice in the past year to play GameCube games. That's it.

It's embarrassing in hindsight that I preordered our Wii and made sure we had 3 extra controllers on launch day.

I haven't had the need to plug my Wii in since I beat No More Heroes a year ago. It'll stay like this until I can afford Madworld, and I'm sure it'll go back to gathering dust once I finish that game too.

I don't have one, but I have played on my cousin's. I wasn't impressed. I got bored of it in the one day I was there.

The Wii is good for certain things. (Playing Mario Kart on any other console would just be wrong.) But it seems like all the best stuff is on the other two consoles.

I'm not sure if you have an emotional attachment to the Wii or not, but the other opinions in this thread have been flame-free thus far and I'm rather interested in seeing how other people are using their Wii's lately, if at all.

They're fun in small doses. I don't have one though, not enough appealing games. I might get one at the end of it's cycle when everything's cheap like I got my Gamecube. But as of right now there still aren't enough good games for that even.

The problenm is nintendo doesn't care about gamers anymore. Now look at the crap we have.

Mine pretty much collects dust. I got so fed up with the stupid wii mote while trying to play Twilight Princess ( a game I could have stomped with a regular gamecube controller) that I haven't finished it or turned it back on. My husband has been playing RE4 on it and likes the arcade shooter feel that game has. Other than party games like Rabbids and Mario Cart it really doesn't have much to offer when you have other consoles.

I bought mine when I bought Rock Band, so it hasn't been given a fair shot yet, since I've been rather obsessive between RB and the latest Naruto game.

But, if for no other reason, it will be the best damn gamecube/nes/snes/n64 emulator ever. I think that's why I won't give it up, that is, unless I happen to see them going for $400 on ebay again soon lol.

I unplugged it one day when there was an update and I never plugged it back in. Before this gen I was a die-hard Nintendo guy. Now due to ToV, AC6 and RB I love my 360. I ended up giving it to my sister on an indefinite loan.

Still use my GCN though.

All of my hard-core gamer friends dislike the Wii for one reason or another. It's too gimmicky (the number of things you can snap the Wii-Mote into is hilarious) & there's not enough interesting software (in the UK at least). Only one of my gamer friends still has his Wii (the rest sold theirs), & he only uses it for Mario Cart & Wii Fit.

For casual & non-gamers though, the Wii has been a blast. My eldest sister bought a Wii for Christmas a few years ago, & watching my dad (who had never played console games before & is in his 70's) thrash my gamer-geek nephew at tennis & bowling was a hoot. The Wii is great as a party console, & it brings console gaming to folk who normally would not even consider playing games in the first place. All my non-gamer friends & family still have their Wii's & enjoy playing on them.

For the record, my husband & I have never owned a Wii, & I can't see ourselves buying one in the near future; it's expensive, & there is not enough software that appeals to either of us. The same is true for the PS3 as well, even though the PS2 was our gaming platform of choice for years.
