Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack 4/9/09, Gears 2 Snowblind Map Pack 3/31/09

Major Nelson (http://bit.ly/69VIm) confirmed in an Xbox.com post this morning that the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3 will release on April 9th, 2009.

The Gears of War 2 Snowblind Map Pack will release March 31st, 2009.

Edit: Both will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

Yeah, that was just a promo. You could get them early with the Collector's Edition of Halo Wars. This announcement is for the Xbox Live Marketplace Release.

I guess people that bought the Collector's Edition of Halo Wars sort of paid for it in advance, since the CE was something like 10 bucks more anyway, heh

I had read someplace that this pack would be the last set of maps to come to Halo 3; has anyone heard similar?

I'm hoping not because I still want to play on Blood Gulch :(

There will be three more maps released with Halo 3: ODST this fall, then that will be the end unless bungie has something up their sleeves they have not talked about. They have said though that blood gulch is not coming back.

I have Halo Wars LCE so I have had the maps and think they are well worth getting. Assembly: I have not played too much, but it seems like a nice arena map that the game has been missing so far. Orbital: while I initially felt this map would be far too confusing to be playable, once I figured it out it is probably my favorite default layout of the three. Sandbox: while I personally think the default layout is a bit of a mess (too many anti vehicle power weapons that spawn constantly and not enough vehicles on too slow of spawns) but the forging options it opens up are almost unreal and will add almost limitless possibilities for maps compared to even foundry.

Yeah, I know the flashback pack is free, but the Combustle pack (or something) is what I'm wondering. I remember Epic wanted everything to be free, but Microsoft disagreed, so they came to a compromise... it will cost money for a few months, and then be free. I'm wondering if that is still in effect.

I read it weeks ago.

So... if its the same still, no they didnt, which means the online is still crap :(
