now im really pissed off...

Ok so i get super excited that im getting my replacement guitar right...and i wake up..and here it comes the new guitar! i open it .. there is NO EA game in the box...or no Extra Guitar...but i did get my guitar....i thought hopefully ill get an email on the game or something...sooooo i go to school...come back ...connect my guitar and get ready to play...super excited...and to my surprise .... my ****in guitar is the same ****... the downstrum isnt working properly??!?! WTF??? and no free game?!!?! no free extra guitar??? what the hell?? I know i didnt pay $184 so that i could have a messed up guitar...and warranty didnt make it better..and i know the downstrum isnt working cause i did Heroes by david bowie on expert the night before with my xplorer and got 5 stars on it..and i cant even get 4 stars with this new "replacement" guitar..


i dont mean to flame on Harmonix.....but EA is ****in up....

what do you all recommend i do?

Send it in again. It is luck if you get a guitar with a good strum mechanic or a bad strum mechanic

Try changing out the batteries. The ones they give you are complete junk. My strum bar stopped working on down, (only worked up) changed with some Duracell batteries and it worked like a champ.

I would try to recalabrate the TV just incase. If you really want to test the strumbar just sit in the menu and strum up and down...you should only go up and down to two menu options. No matter how fast or slow you strum it...I tested mine that way and it worked fine. I am very happy with my new guitar and I found during guitar solos you only have to press the solo keys...you don't have to strum...makes it so much easier...I so missed that part in the tutorial!

My downstrum died two days into playing. I figured it'd be hell getting a replacement anytime within the first few months and over the Christmas period.

I popped mine open, examined the internals, located the source of failure (contact plates bent together too much so the nipple was touching stopping it returning to the base state) and fixed it.

My whammy bar went ping and flattened after five days so I opened it again and it was a broken spring just as I suspected. In with half of a spring from a ballpoint pen and we're up and running again.

To hell with the warranty. I'll jury rig my guitar until they come out with a higher quality one and then just buy a replacement. I don't want to waste my time RMAing this one just to get another fault-prone one back in return.

Nobody got a free game yet. No details have been released about how they're going to handle it, or what games will be made available. They never claimed a free game would ship with the guitar.

Honestly, in that case you're really going to have to send it back and get another replacement. I was just putting out home repair as an option.

For me the messing around waiting for replacements and knowing that you'll receive inferior products when you do get them made it an obvious decision to repair it myself. My guitar is working better now than when I first unboxed it and if it dies utterly in 3 or 4 months hopefully there will be some better quality designs hitting the market as individual units.

It didn't take that long to get a replacement. I have my les Paul guitar anyway I used in the mean time. They do a 2nd Day Air shipping to you for the replacement. Why do you think they are waiting so long to sell extras. They have to take care of everyone with broken ones first.
