I thought that the blue pad sounded funny whenever i hit it, so I picked it up and shook it a little and heard something loose inside (screw, piece of plastic?). Now the thing is annoying me whenever i drum, cause i hear it and I know something is loose/broken inside.

Do U guys think I should RMA it? Even though it's working fine (as of now).

Thanks for your help/advice.

I ordered a replacement pad because my blue pad didnt work...the one they shipped me rattled in the blue pad like you describe. I rolled it back and forth looking in the crack until I saw it...it was a screw! I lifted the pad just enough for the screw to fall out (barley had to lift at all) and no more rattle. Plays great too. I assume an extra just fell in there during assembley.

My red pad has a terrible rattle in it and was registering double hits... so I decided to pull it apart and see what the rattle was.
It turns out there were 2 loose screws inside the spring in the middle of the sensor. I have no idea what these screws are from... but I pulled them out, re-attached the drum pad, and now there are no more double hits :D

Still rattles like a bugger though.... Im thinking those two screws are missing from something that is causing the rattling. I couldn't see it at first glance, so I'll have to take it apart again and inspect it more closely.

The pad only rattles when struck dead in the center above the sensor... no rattling at all when hit on the outer edges of the pad.

Anyone have this same problem?

FOLLOW UP

After reading another thread in the forum here, I decided to look at the pad again. I just tightened up the 2 posts on either side of the sensor like the poster said and it worked like a charm.... no more rattle :D

So I don't know where the hell those two screws came from, because I checked every single place I could.

me it's my guitar that has the rattle, i'm thinking to open the darn thing and have a look but i'm worried that this might kill the warranty. :(

Same here. It seems to be working fine but every time I move it around I hear the rattle.

this thread is about drum rattling, not guitars. The rattle in the guitar is normal, its part of the tilt sensor that recognizes the overdrive.

And for the record, taking your instruments apart does not void the warranty, just dont unscrew the part with the harmonix sticker on the back of the guitar.
