View Full Version : Problem with DLC Licenses (xbox360)

i'll give some background on what is happening, and then i'll have my question at the end.

Me and a friend both have rockband 2 for the xbox360. we both have separate dlc sets, and wanted to have a solution that had all of our dlc on one harddrive so when i go over to his place, or he comes over to mine, all of our dlc songs are present. (we are familiar with how the content licensing system works on the 360, and we are using a memory card to make sure both our profiles are present and signed in at the time so everything authenticates properly).

this scenario worked great for having all of the songs in one location (his stuff was on his harddrive, and i did a redownload of my songs on his harddrive so when my profile was present, all my songs would work as well). the problem is that when i leave, and my profile is no longer present, my songs aren't disappearing from the set list. they show up on the list (with no audio preview), and then give an error message if the song is chosen (due to the fact that the content becomes unlicensed when my profile is missing).

this would only be a mild annoyance (since it makes the play list longer and cluttered with unplayable songs), but the real problem comes into play here. in career mode, mystery set lists can pick songs from the dlc. many times, my songs will be chosen randomly by mystery set list, and he will get booted out of his career mode, with the progress made on the set list being lost. this is VERY inconvenient if it happens on the 4th song of a 5 song set list.

essentially, i want to know if there is

A. a way to make my songs disappear when my profile isn't present (without deleting them from the harddrive, so that i can just plug my memory card in, turn the system on, and have the songs show up)

B. a way to make it so that mystery setlist will only pick songs off the disc (or even better, a way to selectively disable songs from being picked, so that i can only disable mine)

i googled around, but couldn't find any solutions. i'm surprised more people haven't had this problem, as i would imagine many people have large enough dlc collections that they wouldn't fit on a memory card.

---edit---

i don't know if this makes a difference or not, but when i redownloaded my songs on his system, i did it through the game itself (not the dashboard)

there is no possible method. you will have to download them on his console and delete them when you arent around or vice versa

there is no difference. (redownloading it in game sorts them out quicker but you cant queue your dlc to download one after the other)
