Unlocking through single player

Hey all, i will be getting rock band for christmas and we then later in the day we have a christmas party where all my cousins come over. I have played the world band tour and my friends house and we played the same 3 songs 8 different times, so i was wondering if getting most of the songs thorough solo career gives you more choices for world tour? also how many tiers are there for the guitar solo career and how many songs per tier?

Solo tier is the faster method of unlocking songs.
BWT is more fun just cause you're playing with friends, though.
..Until you play Say it aint so for the 20th time.

There's an unlock all code, however.
Just search it up.

Yes, unlocking the songs in solo career will unlock them in BWT. There are nine tiers, five songs each, not counting the bonus songs (13 i think).

If you get some DLC or play through one of the solo careers you'll have a wider selection of songs for BWT random sets and create a sets. I have a bunch of DLC and all the main and bonus songs unlocked and I get a wide selection of songs in my random sets. Of course this is great until a metallica song shows up and pees in your cheerios.

Yeah I played the band world tour for the first time on Sat night with a buddy after already unlocking all the songs, we played for about 7 hours (with breaks to design our band logo etc.) and we didn't get a single repeated song. I think maybe, we had to play Wanted Dead or Alive twice, but I think that was after we already had quit out so I could rejoin as vocalist and guitar.
