Viewing threads

I'm sure this has been asked before. I have gone through pages and pages of posts looking for it, but I cannot find any information. I have experimented with my settings as well to no avail. But simply put, is there a way to fix it so that when I click on a topic, it starts from the very beginning of the thread? I am sick of it arbitrarily jumping to the middle of the topic. I then have to click on page one to start at the beginning. Basically I want to start at the OP position. Is this at all possible?

If you click on the actual title of the thread, it will always start at the OP.

It's only if you click a page number or the little "Go to first new post" red icon that it will start somewhere else.

I do click on the title to the thread, and it occasionally starts me at the OP, but most of the time it randomly drops me into a reply in the middle somewhere. It is very annoying. I have messed with the settings and can find nothing to fix it. Thanks for replying however. I may have set something on accident to cause it to behave this way.

Yeah I think it may be settings on your PC.. I know if i click on the thread title, it always starts at the top (regardless if i've read the whole thread or a portion). However if I click on the red microphone, it'll always start me from where I left off at or the first new post (whichever applies in this situation).
