Tips on strumming faster...

Anyone have tips on how to up and down strum quickly. I seem to have problems with that. What's the best way to strum? I use my thumb. How do you upstrum? Do you use your thumb as well? Any tips will be helpful.

Put your thumb on the top of the strum bar and you index finger on the bottom (Kind of like playing with a real guitar pick). And Im not sure what difficulty your on, but just go through and practice a lower difficulty using only alternate strumming (struming down-up-down-up-etc). Then by the time you get to your difficulty you will only use alternate strumming and when a fast passage comes you can nail it without a worry.

HA! you guys are hilarious!. I know how to upstrum, just trying to see what fingers you guys use, whether it's all thumbs or thumbs and index. I know this sounds really bad, but please, don't think dirty.

Well it kind of depends of what guitar you're using but I use my thumb on top and my index and middle fingers on the bottom and strum up and down, it works the same with the Les Paul and the strat, the strat you just pinch it a little tighter.

Or you can join your thumb and index fingers and strum like you would on a real guitar. It's the only proper way to rock out.
